He ate a couple of body shots and was completely defenseless at the end. I think his corner was going take him out before the end of the round or between the rounds

    wrong.

    1. Roy threw at least one punch after being dropped.

    2. Roy was still defending himself.

As I said, I don't neccessarily disagree with the stoppage, but then, if the ref had let the fight go the first round I wouldn't have disagreed either.

Roy wasn't defenceless and out on his feet - he was buzzed, quite badly buzzed, but there are refs out there who give a fighter a chance to regain their senses and come back into a fight.

Pavlik against Taylor being an example.

Roy threw no punches, was completely legless & badly hurt.

Man up, take the loss on the chin (like Roy did) & stop making lame excuses.

  5. You know, you'd think, if you were Jones, and you'd come all the way down to Australia for a fight, and your future money-making planes involved a huge fight with Bernard Hopkins, and these plans would be shattered if you lost said fight in Australia, that you be just slightly pissed if they stopped you in the first round when you felt you could recuperate and get back into. Well, take a close look at Roy's body language after the ref stepped in to save him. Was there a trace of protest? No.

Wrong and wrong. Stop making **** up to suit your argument, coz both these points are false.

    1. Roy throws a punch at about 1.25- 1.24 on the clock.

    2. Roy wasn't legless - he was still standing.

the win is definitely Greene's. He won fair and square. But Roy has been KO'd before. I just think this time he wanted to show he could come back from being knocked down, but he wasn't given the chance.

RJJ has over 50 pro fights and he knows that if he stands there and covers up with out throwing back then the fight will be stopped. What do you expect the Ref to do just allow RJJ to take punches forever?

British Refs always stop fights in this way and it was a good 10 to 21 seconds or so of answered punches.

just goes to show how shot roy really is if a club fighter like green can knock him out. Sad.

    Just re-watched it.

Saying Roy "throws" a punch is a stretch.

He pushes one (and only one, not "at least" one as you claimed) pitiful right hand that wouldn't have bruised a grape.

You're in denial, dude. Roy was legless & gone for all money.

Jones was done, he was under constant attack after the KD and threw nothing back, he couldn't move without almost falling over, it was only a matter of time before Green caught him with something that completely put his lights out.
The referee saved Roy from an even more brutal defeat, I'm glad he could at least finish on his feet and not on a stretcher.

It's sad watching people struggle to come to terms with this. Your hero made a terrible mistake and got ktfo. I think it's a terrible way to go too, but I can clearly see what happened. Roy accepted it minutes after it happened - why can't you???

Get over it guys, had that fight been allowed to go on Roy would have been seriously hurt. Hard to come to grips with but he was wobbly and wasn't going to recover. I think there was too much expectation after Lacy, but Green is a class above poor 'left hook'. BTW I'm a fan of both Roy and Danny.

Yeah, in a nutshell if Roy didn't react with any indignation at the stoppage, it means he agreed with it, which carries the most weight of all. When the fighter himself seems to think it was the right call. But I would agree that at that stage, it was a debatable call. It wouldn't have necessarily been wrong if he gave Roy the chance to make it to the bell and recover between rounds but it wasn't wrong to stop it when all those punches were going unanswered. Something seemed wrong enough to stop it.
