roy jones does and always has had a glass jaw, he would have been in trouble at any point in his carreer with a big pucher, why do you think he avoided so many big light heavys, roy used to be an amazing fighter now hes barely average if that, sorry i know ur a fan but hes finished as a good fighter
Not a hardcore boxing fan but I know what I see. This is my opinion of the fight and the aftermath. Firstly, regarding the supposed rabbit punch. I think any fair minded viewer that would highlight where the shot landed, would also have to acknowledge that RJ contributed heavily to it by turning his head, significantly, mid-punch. Roy did not have a problem with where it landed at all and has said as much. Regarding the supposed early stoppage. I personally would not have stopped it when the ref did but I can understand his decision. I have very little doubt that if it continued the way it was going ie. Roy not throwing any punches at all, up against the ropes with Green throwing bucket loads, eventually he would've been seriously hurt, knocked out or probably both. We all know Roy has a glass jaw. It wasn't even the amount of shots he was taking, it was more the fact that after the first clinch, Roy retreated, wobbly, straight back to the ropes after being almost centre-ring. He said afterwards he was fine by then but frankly, I don't believe that. He was hurt fairly badly IMO. When he attempted to get up after the knock down he completely fell over again. Regarding Hopkins and many others saying Green didn't land sufficient shots to justify the stoppage. Well to that I would say fair enough but I would suggest you watch the entire fight from the knock down again in slo-mo. I agree a lot of shots hit the gloves and the arms but he landed some very solid body shots and a couple of nice uppercuts. First punch after the clinch, Green nailed him with a hard left straight through the gloves. After the fight you can clearly see Roy Jones with a pretty bloodied towel. I'm not sure if he was cut or not. On Hopkins' opinion. Come on B-Hop you said all during the build up that Green has to knock him out, not just beat him. Is it Green's fault the ref stopped it before he could send him down again? Blind Freddy can see you're pulling crap out of your arse with comments like "He lost on his feet" which roughly translates to, "I still want you all to pay $50 to watch two past their prime 40 yr olds in a meaningless rematch so I can have another huge pay day." You have a clear cut agenda, Hop, and the attempt to salvage your plans is rather embarrassing to watch. And ffs, Australia is not only not in Europe it's not even in the same bloody hemisphere. I hope you don't wonder why Americans get crap about not knowing the world outside their borders...lol... Congratulations to Green and hopefully he can now "Invade America" as B-Hop said. I do recall telling half a dozen pseudo-experts that Green's power only required one solid shot and Roy would be finished so I do feel a little vindicated.
Roy might get another unintentional illegal rabbit punch in their rematch (if it happens) and the outcome will be the same. Tell Roy not to duck so that the punch will hit his jaw and not the back of his head.
