McCloskey is nearly as bad an oportunist as the human billiard ball...in 20 fights he has fought 17 opponents who have been coming off losses.

Back to Rees, can someone please tell me how the **** he got a world title shot? Frank must have sold his soul for that.

TBF. On paper this was the highest quality tourney that Prizefighter have staged. It Isn't rees' fault that it didn't live up to expectations.
He entered and won. And, was the best boxer there IMHO.

Why are some Brits so hard on guys who have done fairly well?

:rofl...........I have had to read some pretty bad **** about Gavin on here over the years & alot of it is unjustified , The man himself knows he's no sugar ray leonard but he's tough & has a big heart & goes into the ring to fight. Tonight he went in with bigger stronger men & took the fight to them & got his rewards so fair ****ing play to him.
As I said he's a genuine fella & what you see is what you get so good luck to him & his family.........:good

    ****, had to miss this.

Knew it would be Rees v Barnes/Lynes in the final.

Fair play to Gav, he should be able to get a big domestic fight off this, he really should be making 135 and I reckon he could give Murray his hardest fight to date :good

Rees deserved it, he tried more than anyone and had some quality too. He's got a lot of heart in the ring but lacks dedication outside it. Should be mixing in better company more often but is obviously no world class fighter.

Lynes did alright, Barnes needs to get in the ring more often he's still a good fighter but needs to get sharpness back.

The rest, I dunno where they go.

Just on the train home from this. Was a bit of a non-event and for most of the evening the atmosphere was very flat but the fights did get better as they went on.

Venue was a bit too big really and perhaps its time to go back to less known fighters who are a bit less cagey for the early rounds.

As I said he knows himself he's not the best boxer in the world but he is full of heart & can produce quality at times. I think his problem is that he genuinley is one of the lads & that will never change , the man is what he is & if he was 100% dedicated who knows but that being said when he does get his **** together he is a dificult opponent for whoever he comes across & got the right reward for his efforts tonight......
If he can keep his head together he can go back down to 135 & have some real good fights......:good
I have sat & talked to the man in my back garden & he's as genuine as they come , He can be bonkers when he's had a sip but he's genuine & that goes a long way.....good luck to him.

To be honest this should have been in Cardiff.

Would have sold well and been a good atmosphere.

I think Rees can do a bit at 135 if he commits himself.
