Rpy JOnes should have retired 6 or 7 years ago. Hopkins was 42. The fact that they go at the top of Calzaghe's list of accomplishments tells you all you need to know. It's not a bash of the guy, you can only fight who's in the ring with you.

Hmm, top ten P4P fighters are not always easy to come by though. How many top ten pound for pound fighters has Roy Jones fought in his career? Two? Toney and Calzaghe off the top of my head. And one of those was long after he should have retired and he lost. Actually, Tarver may have been scraping the Ring P4P top ten when Jones fought him for the third time but (a) he lost again and (b) Tarver only got there by beating Jones in the first place.

So you could equally say SIXTEEN years at championship level at 160, 168, 175 and HW and only THREE fights against Top 10 P4P fighters. And he LOST two of them!

    The answer is, unfortunately, yes.

Calzaghe does not have the resume his skills deserve.

He was truly a fantastic boxer though. I still do not believe there is anyone at SMW or LHW better than he was.

If Peter Manfredo gets his ass kicked again look for Joe to come out of retirement

I dont give Mayweather a pass either...We can talk all day about who you can beat but at the end of the day that means nothing until you actually prove it...I'm not a blind fan and I've been vocal about...If he doesnt prove himself against Pac or Mosley then I cant be a fans of his...Talk is cheap...you have to actually put you words into play!:good

You are kidding right? There are about twenty fighters at lightheavy that would be huge favourites. Smw is a young division and even thats debatable apart from if longevity is the main criteria. As time goes on him and Ottke move closer togeather.

Lacy was overhyped at the time but Calzaghe also ruined him.. But all in all Cal should have fought better opposition, he had the skills but does not have the resume..

I don't really like the guy but the only way calzaghes legacy would ever take a hit is if roy jones gets looked at as a fraud with a glass chin.
