Forbes wins! I'm surprised only because I thought the Mexican fighter would win. Justice is served.

Sweet, glad they didn't screw my boy two fights in a row.

Forbes has just about everything but power, and it's hurt him throughout his career, as he doesn't have that equalizer.

If he would have lost, could have called it, the "GoldenScrew Job" But they didn't do it.

Very close fight, I agreed with Merchant's scoring. Glad to see Forbes beat a GBP name all the same, that DHOP fight still pisses me off.

Happy for Forbes of course, he's close to the end of his career and to "beat" a young good fighter like Bojado will get him another decent payday....buuuut...Bojado should have received the decision.

The Contender's Steve Forbes (33-5, 9 KOs) won a close ten round split decision over Francisco "Panchito" Bojado (17-3, 11 KOs) in a welterweight bout. Scores were 96-94, 97-93 Forbes, 96-94 Bojado.

    I agree.

Bojado should have gotten the nod.

Effort-wise, Forbes did all he could, Bojado (as always) failed to meet his potential. He could have done more and, in essence, screwed himself. Hopefully this serves as motivation and doesn't discourage him, because if he gets it together - and I know, it's the story of his career - the sky is the limit.

no way bojado won this fight. close sure. but letterman gave every single freekin close round to bojado, while forbes had to completely dominate to get the nod. it was a joke. so many close ones, however i dont feel bojado dominated a single round. while forbes clearly dominated 2 and clearly won the fifth. merchant disappointed me. for forbes to not even have the fight on the table on his card in the last round is a travesty. JUSTICE was served

I had it a draw. Lederman pissed me off with his exaggeration of Bojado's power punching. Forbes was never wobbled, and he never allowed any of Bojado's offensive flurries to last long enough to cause concern. Ineffective aggression does not trump consistent, slick boxing.

wow, that would be pretty sweet. probably get a lot of boos as it's a guaranteed chess match with about .0000000001% chance of a KO, but I'd love to see it. :yep
