Assuming that Juan Diaz gets pass Paulie Malignaggi next week, a fight between Juan Diaz and Ricky Hatton sounds like a good one. Who do you think would win between the two? Please vote.

I'll take Hatton if he can get in shape. Diaz isnt a big puncher and while his workrate is high, I think Hatton can beat him.

Hatton for now. Still stronger and that left hook to the body is still dangerous.

hatton for sure, juan diaz as des3995 said isnt a big puncher...i think both have similar work rates and can be explosive but hattons left hooks will be the decider...

If Hatton can still make the weight I'd still pick Hatton, I just don't think Diaz has the power to keep him away.

But honestly, I think Hatton would have a real hard time making 140. He gains waay to much weight to make 140 easily but he's still a bit small for 147.

I don't know. Tossup. But I am doubtful that Diaz will get past Malignaggi. Then again, even if he lost to Malignaggi a Hatton fight would still be plausible. Maybe even more so.

prime for prime, i would go for hatton. simply the bigger man and the better puncher. diaz would would not hurt hatton by his flurries especially at 140 where this fight would be made. now, maybe hatton is done after that trashing he got from his last fight but could possibly squeak out a hard-fought decision assuming he still makes 140. juan diaz was not exactly spectacular in his last few fights either.

Diaz. Hatton is finished. His punch resistance is woeful. Lazcano had him badly hurt, Malignaggi buzzed him and obviously Pacquiao knocked him the absolute **** out. Even Diaz would knock him out.

...Did you just insinuate that at some point Malignaggi "buzzed" Hatton? Where exactly? Point me to a time in a video or a gif animation because I watched that fight and I'm wondering what your definition of "buzzed" is. Do you mean "buzzed" as in "slightly annoyed" or "tickled gently"?

I just saw a picture of Ricky Hatton last night. He was at the Matthew Macklin fight. The man looked at least two and a half stone out of shape. I don't know why Hatton is so hard on his body inbetween fights. I feel his excessive lifestyle will catch up with him especially after the Pac loss and I think his motivation has suffered too.

I don't remember the time or round because the last time I watched it was before the Pacman fight. He never 'hurt' Hatton in a sense, but on an occasion he landed with a right-hand that momentarily stiffened Hatton's legs and stopped him coming forward. Hatton's punch resistance is now woeful, the years of cutting down from the 170's/80's to 140lbs has finally caught up with him.

Diaz and Hatton are like the same fighter except Hatton is more skilled and has a bigger punch
