I agree that way too much credit is often given for many punches not landing..as if all that counts to some judges is that you unleash non stop..

Workrate with a high connect percentage is another story.

So... then wouldn't this apply to Malignaggi?? People cannot have it both ways. Diaz obviously landed the better punches yet people cry about a robbery. Now they claim that Williams was slapping punches and they shouldn't count?

I'm not giving a round to a guy who landed 2 decent shots, when the other guy landed and outworked him, just didn't land as hard.

That's bull**** to score a round to the guy who landed only a few shots. It's a fight, you want to win it, then punch.

Also agree with truushot, that's exactly the reason I scored that fight for Paulie.. he hardly landed, and when he did they were weak shots.. Diaz landed enough shots in those rounds he won to take the fight. Paulie can ***** all he wants, he was trying to win on boxing, but he didn't punch enough.

On the other hand, Williams DID land enough, though clearly Martinez hurt Williams more when he did land, there were more round that Williams out-landed and out-worked Martinez enough that it counter-acted the 1-2 good shots Martinez would land.

Williams jerked Martinez's head around the ring last night as well, let's not kid yourself.

No, effective aggression is a scoring criteria. You can be ineffectively aggressive (ie coming forward and swinging wildly and not connecting), and it isn't worth **** based on how they're supposed to score, nor in the actual fight.

I don't see a problem with 6 even rounds in a fight. If you have to think too hard about who won a round it's an even round. Otherwise you end up pulling some reason why either guy should get the round out of your ass.

I agree 100% and that's why Floyd easily beat Oscar and Hopkins beat Taylor in my eyes.

Im tired of rounds being given to the ineffective aggressor when the other fighter landed much more clean flashy shots.

Im also tired of compubox numbers being used as a premise of who to score a round for.
