Unbelievable last night. What is it with fight 'fans'? I watched Amir in Glasgow when all the Asians in the crowd were so intimidated they left the arena but last night was probably worse. The racist abuse hurled at Khan last night was the worst I've witnessed.
Heavy police presence but none of them willing to step in and do anything about it.
As a white Englishman I felt ashamed.

Full on abuse. 'We hate Pakis' 'Black *******' the usual 'Engerland' shite. One copper had a word with one bloke who totally ignored him and carried on the abuse. Lager fuelled Stoke City fans, bang out of order.

Don't like to generalise but Staffs, West Midlands and the north west does have problems with racisim. Lived in stoke as a kid and worked in Preston recently and there's a certain 'casual' racisim that was prevalent, more so, I noticed than other parts of the country I've lived in. Just my experience of it anyway.

I never heard anything on the tv , but if there was its simple not real fans , not worth paying attention to. Its when people give them attention then they think its worth doing. Like the above have said pathetic. And i have a feeling khan is above the comments of some fat middleaged racist.

Using racist words yourself does not add anything to the thread.

It is very hard to stop this sort of thing, it is problem with our culture. I do not think you can blame the police for not doing anything, people need to learn.

They managed to stop it happening at the football and this was far worse than I've seen at any football match.
The cops had the numbers there but chose not to act, they seemed more concerned with kicking people out for having a cig in the bogs.

like someone said, without want to generalise everyone from these areas, i know racism is a little worse than average in stoke and derby.

one of the problems is the khan-hype machine is creating an anti-khan sentiment and you are going to get racists joining the bandwagon, although they will be boo'ing for different reasons.

theres nothing wrong with disliking a boxer because of his attitidue or level of comp, but keep race out of it

the reason the cops didnt do anything is because shouting racist abuse is not actually against the law. inciting racial hatred is .As far as i know none of kahns fans where attacked because of their race.Drunk people will always be a nuisance thats a fact of life and personally i hate it.Its just best to ignore them.

Pretty sure racial discrimination is illegal mmickyward. Certainly enough to get arrested. Do that in the street, at a football ground etc and you'll be straight into a cell.
