I doubt the fight with Ruiz will get 1 million buys or even half of that, the David and Goliath angle ignited the public's interest.

They need to put better shows on and more regularly.

Get rid of Hennessey his stable isnt worth the investment...

Am I just an anal retentive or is the tag line of World Champion next to David Haye's name being used a little too liberally without any caution or caveat.

Lest we forget he beat a guy who was given the title by the WBA and who has never, like Haye, fought either of the top two in the division.

He has though fought a top five heavyweight in Ruslan Chagaev....oh yeh, but he lost.

Now this isn't revisionism, I did ultimately pick Valuev to win in about 8. I am chuffed Haye won and its healthy for the sport that he did.

But he is no more world-champion any fighter who holds a quarter of the title, particularly when th widely recognised #1 and #2 in the division hold the other 3.

All I ask is that you remember the letters W. B and A. before you call him A heavyweight champion he is not THE heavyweight champion.

You're right. They talk about him like he's just beat Joe Louis for the linear title.

Haye was willing to leave sky in order to fight with the BBC in the Valuev fight, so I reckon if ITV offer it to him and his stable he'll go for it.

He really wants to be on terrestrial TV so this could be very plausable (assuming they actually show his fights live of course!)

Would be fantastic to get Haye on terrestrial for the Ruiz fight... And it makes perfect sense for him to fight on terrestrial for the Ruiz fight imo, he'd add at least 20% to a ppv with Klits

As others have said the thing for itv to do is give contracts on a fight-by-fight basis so when Mick says he wants to headline with Barker-Elcock they can tell him to **** off and only come back when he has Barker against Macklin, Lee or Duddy....and a better fight than McDonagh-Purdy as the chief undercard.

Haye got more than £5 per unit for the Valuev fight, plus a "nominal" purse.
Even if the Ruiz fight only does 500k sales on Sky, Haye will earn £3.5m plus his purse.
Now please can someone enlighten me how the near bankrupt ITV can compete with that and please shut up with all this extra exposure for less money crap.
Not an earthly of Haye walking away from Sky and equally I'll be very surprised if ITV re invest in boxing.

Do people still believe you need terrerstrial tv to be a star? I thought Hatton and Naseem Hamed buried that viewpoint already.

Haye Vs Ruiz could be a nice terrestrial fight. I'm hoping Haye will blast him out of there.
