Shouldn't there be like one official thread for the supject of "over hyped and overrated", where idiots can go to offload.
The thing that surprised me the most in that fight was how much of a glass-jaw Salita has. How can this guy have fought 31 fights and only been down once before the Khan fight?
didnt it take Kahn to get an American trainer to learn how to fight after he got sparked out? jusssayin
He was super protected , if you took the time to look at the records of the guys he was fighting it was a whos who of Who ?? I guess he was figured to be a money maker , a jewish fighter out of new york but despite Khans less than concrete beard he is an actual quality fighter , it was pretty obvius Salita was in over his head. The shame is there was talk of Willie Limond getting Salita awhile back and you have to think Willie would have stomped him too. Cannot wait for Khan to step up agisnt the like of Bradley or Peterson, then we;ve got a fight on our hands.
If thats what you think im sure i could easily criticize your pfp list. Only ones i feel bad for leaving out are R Marquez, and Vasquez but they havent done anything in so long and,I think Vasquez is probably past it. I think Marquez will be back up after a big win against someone younger which I think hes still very capable of doing.
This fight had zero hype in the states, zero. Salita couldn't draw flies in the States, and nobody gave him any chance at all to win the fight. You must be talking about the hype they did over there to sell the fight, because none of it happened here.
Current American fighters: Andre Ward Andre Dirrell Bernard Hopkins Shane Mosley Floyd Mayweather Jr. Jermain Taylor Kelly Pavlik Paul Williams Winky Wright Steve Cunningham Chad Dawson Eddie Chambers James Kirkland Nate Campbell Timothy Bradley Kendall Holt Andre Berto And many more I'm missing Current British fighters: Carl Froch David Haye Ricky Hatton Mathew Hatton Amir Khan Junior Witter Tyson Fury Audley Harrison Have a great day.
good point. also, i dont live on these forums but Salita was not hyped at all over here. most people have never even heard of him before.
Scar, I'd expext better from you !! ( also there are 5 times as many of you than there are of us , so you should really have 5 times as many , you guys suck )
Exposing the great American hype job is a proud British tradition and long may it continue. Next to get Lacy'd? My guess Andre Ward or the winner of Diaz/Malignaggi II if he's actually daft enough to sign his own death warrant and fight King Khan.
exactly, take the time to look at a map, other than when you want to look for somewhere else to invade
Going by your logic england should also have about 10 times more top fighters then puerto rico..... Population size dont matter much.. Some countries America,Pr,cuba, mexico and Frmr USSR just have more of a boxing culture then other countires.... Britain has a pretty decent boxing history, but everyone hates your fighters because british media and fans overhype their guys beyond beleif
All that proves is your ignorance of British boxers. There's a lot more talent than you've listed. Macklin, Mitchell, Cleverly, Brook are just 4 off the top of my head who'll be making waves in 2010.
74 seconds FFS! All we heard for weeks before the fight is Salita is gonna do this to Khan, Salita is gonna do that to Khan. 74 seconds and he was on his ass three times! Is this guy flop of the year of what, even by the standards of the hype machine that is U.S boxing! I mean he'd fought nobody who could do anymore than pull their pants up and still the hype machine was in overdrive! Guys, Dmitri "74 seconds" Salita can you not come up with better than that? At least Lacy took his beating like a man, Salita couldn't even do that and it's not like Khan is any great shakes either.
LOOKS LIKE BRITISH BOXING GOT KTFOD ON THIS THREAD
