74 seconds FFS! All we heard for weeks before the fight is Salita is gonna do this to Khan, Salita is gonna do that to Khan. 74 seconds and he was on his ass three times! Is this guy flop of the year of what, even by the standards of the hype machine that is U.S boxing! I mean he'd fought nobody who could do anymore than pull their pants up and still the hype machine was in overdrive! Guys, Dmitri "74 seconds" Salita can you not come up with better than that? At least Lacy took his beating like a man, Salita couldn't even do that and it's not like Khan is any great shakes either.
atsch Nobody was hyping Salita. FFS. You're talking so much ****, shut up. PS I'm not American.
Macklin is the only guy their who is beyond domestic level IMO (and even then only euro level) None of those guys are world class. Do you want me to start listing american domestic prospects?

Im pretty sure everyone was in consensus that Salita was a handpicked opponent (no power, shaky chin, padded record) for kahn to make an impressive 1st defense with very little risk. The whole jew and muslim angle helped mask the fact that salita was completly cherry picked for kahn... Wtf did he do in order to earn a wba shot?? Nice moves Mr Frank Warren
Just like "nobody was hyping Jeff Lacy up", or Michael Grant? Everyone over there knew those guys were **** as well, right (well, once they got beat down you did). The whole situation cracks me up. I have nothing against the fighters themselves, but the whole "king is dead long live the new king" thing, ridiculous hyping of average fighters and the mentality that nothing outside the US exists for boxing purposes cracks me up!
LOL jesus christ , there are none so blind !!! the entire planet hates you ****s and its because of this ****ing attitude. atsch Oh well your time has passed now , so you should be pittied I suppose, a broken bully still trying to throw his weight around even though none really cares anymore.
Brits should make threads like this more often whenever an american fighter loses because they always do it, they can dish it out to other nations but cannot take it when thier own fighters are getting exposed. Roy Jones, Salita and Paul Williams = Ameribums:deal
It as a shame.....I guess eventually we will be fading away into irrelevancy....... can you tell me what that's like so I'll know it when we get there?
Oooh brave call, considering he already holds the European title. atsch I'd expect 2/4 to get their hands on a world title. If Clev beats his man for the European strap there's talk of him challenging late 2010. Macklin and Mitchell are both arguably due a shot. You can add Murray and Small to that list too.
Im impratial to country to be honest. But ofcourse their are arrogant pricks on both sides. Being better at boxing then another country has no real meaning to be honest. Its just nationalist spin people use to sell fights. And all of you guys fall for it like taking candy from a baby. Really selling fights off peoples racial insecurities has always been a good way to make money in sports. Olympics, world cup, boxing, kickboxing ect.... all play off racial insecurity to make more money :deal
Speaking for the entire planet now are we Govanmauler? This thread is such a load of bull****, it's simply a platform for those with an inferiority complex about their country to vent. The only hype surrounding Salita came from Sky Sports & the guy is not even from the US so why would Americans give a **** either way
I'd have to agree.....and admit to falling prey. But you have to root for someone, no? It's the non boxing cheap shots that get my hackles up. It's weak and shows up when there is no relevant argument in regards to boxing.
