...cant help but laugh at this :good...there mustve been sumthin wrong w/ erik for wanting to fight pac the third time around ...and cmon guys stop all this hating on BOTH fighters lets just move on :bbb
Marco always has an excuse for something:deal in 2003, he was distracted because the media was all over him about the plate in his head, that's why he lost to Pac then, then he lost to Marquez and said the Ref made to many bad calls, it's alway's something with this guy, i can't stand fighters' that always make excuses for a loss, Assholes:-(
**** Barrera, he went out like a chump..He doesn't have the balls and pride that Morales has to go out like a warrior on his shield, Barrera is an arrogant *****, and I hope it eats him up alive that Morales was able to beat Pacquiao but he never could!..Morales showed his people and country who's the one with the balls and pride to go out like a f'n warrior.
I agree. Pacquiao really showed that he is slipping. He looked so vulnerable in some spots. It is not a surprise that Pac won. It was what was expected. However, it was expected he was going to KO MAB faster than last time. MAB has been in more wars than PAC. He has almost 20 more fights. It really opens the door to some questions. If BArrera fought like this and Pac like he did the first time they got together- WOuld Pac have won? I don't think so. Pac didn't finish a fighter who he SHOULD have had the firepower to do so considering he is #2 pfp. I don't say good win for Pac. I say good loss for Barerra. HOF, Baby Faced Assassin.
...at least Barrera should have tried to go out in a blaze of glory, he owed it to the fans, and mostly to the legacy that he had himself superbly set... That's why Erik will always be the true and perrenial Aztec.
we watched the fight via delayed telecast on tv here in the phils.and I was pissed off of commercials.they lasted 6-8 mins in between rounds. longer than a two round fight. I was not surprised why the fights went 12 rounds. Pac will gather his shares in TV commercials in phils. I saw he tried to knock Barrera starting the 11th but failed to do coz barrera wont engage. :bart
wtf what did you expect from mab hes not going to stand and trade with pac. When has a fighter ever thought **** the game plan this what pacs fans want. Mab imo gave a good account of himself and was more than a hand full for pac. For me he showed the blue print of how to beat pac for a younger fighter.why all the hating
Barrera was a proven legend before this fight and this loss does not put his legacy down in any way. If anything, he showed that if he was closer to his prime he would beat Pacquiao.. but nevermind that, I don't want to start arguments in here. These idiots disrespecting Barrera are just morons who are ignorant and know nothing about what he has accomplished. He had an unbelievably long run at the elite level of competition and if there are fighters in the future that will go on to give 25% of what he gave to the sport I will be very happy. Yesterday, I saw that he couldn't pull off a miracle win after the first few rounds and it was just sad to finally see that this was the last time Barrera will fight at the top level. One thing that pissed me off a little bit during the match was when his brother/trainer was telling him that he was winning every round. I understand that he wanted to make him feel confident, but I think it also contributed to Barrera doing less. I admit I was a little disappointed that Barrera didn't go all-out in the last 2 rounds like I thought he might and he didn't fight with the same conviction as in the JMM match, but I'm not at all disappointed in him because of what he has given over all the years. He looked damn good considering the battles he's been in, but he looked old. I was worried about him brawling in the later rounds and getting destroyed, so I'm glad he at least didn't get too hurt. Morales in the 3rd Pac fight went out much worse than Barrera did, even when you think about it just looking at toughness. Morales looking at his dad in the corner and shaking his head saying he doesn't want to get up is not more "Atzec-like" than showing good boxing skills and exchanging punches in moments during a 12 round fight. It's not like Barrera was running. Either way, both guys are on the same level when it comes to being warriors. This loss does not affect Barrera's legacy or historical reputation in a negative way at all.
I know you're a big fan of JMM so I'm a little surprised you think Pac would beat him. Do you think he is just too past-his-prime to beat the Pacquiao who has improved since 2004? That's the only logic I see. I think if there was a rematch immediately after the first fight, Marquez would dominate him. If they fight next year, it will be a very close fight, but I would still favor Marquez slightly. Barrera could have beaten Pac yesterday if he just threw a lot more punches / had more stamina and I think Marquez is much less faded than Barrera right now. Plus, his style is a little better than Barrera's when it comes to fighting someone like Manny.
I agree. Erik getting owned in three to me was pathetic, not inspiring? The perennial Aztec also quit. Barrera lasted to the 11th under a far worse beating then Erik took in either of his losses to Pac, and went the distance for a decision loss. Erik took some body shots, got slowly beat up then dropped twice, and was just annihilated in the 3rd fight. Erik was better skilled, but I think Barrera was tougher, honestly.
