Wait a tick: does this make McCline a harder hitter than Wlad?

I blame him, because its not entertaining and it looks gay. I don't see how anyone can encourage that type of behavior in the ring. Running around like a 8 yr old girl getting away from the school boys the sand box. At least his brother had some cajones and would come to fight.

Did you notice that it was Sam Peter's chin that is vulnerable? When Klitschko gave Peter a beating, he was bouncing his fist off everything except his chin. If you want to knockout Peter the best way to do it is with uppercuts. He has is mouth open from fatigue which makes his chin more vulnerable.

I say right hook (I explained it before) and therefore Ruslan Chagaev is the best man to get the job done...

lol i see people dont know what having a glass chin even means. If u get knocked down 3 times and still come back and win..you have a GREAT CHIN. He was able to recover from some very hard shots....and be right back to normal the very next round..that is a GOOD CHIN...

Peter is an utter FRAUD. :nod

He was floored THREE TIMES by feather-fisted McCline. :yep

That's even worse than china-chinned Brock! It's only the SHAMEFUL role of Don King that allowed this glass-chinned fraud to get a title shot. I guess connections are a big help if you don't have the gift of chin. :yep

Peter's chin is GRADE A CHINA. :nod

This is the dumbest thread I have read in a LONG time. C'mon haters, give us all a break. Peter has a very good chin or else he wouldn't have made it back up from those shots and won every round after. :good

Was his chin knocked down a peg from the granite label?... yep. I wonder how Wlad would have taken those shots IF HE DID TAKE THEM. (I know people would instantly answer "well... Wlad would have never been in that position as he would have knocked McCline out in the first round blah blah blah...). I'm on record as saying that Wlad wouldn't have been able to take those shots and would have been knocked out. :yep

knocking down brock and byrd who are far from china chins.

the truth is that mcCline isnt aggresive enough he has handspeed has power and has wieght and hieght and a decent reach but just doesnt let his hands go or try and push guys back..he also has dodgy stamina after 6 roundshe becomes so passive.

against byrd. he totally bullied him to the ropes until he just puffed out and byrd went out at him.

brock fiught was similar aswell he dd alright then puff out and wham.

to be honest mcCline wouldnt of knocked peter out in the 12th...so is it a weak chin or a untapped puncher.

i go with the 2nd. rocked by toney and wlad and could stay upright.not a weak chin but not a granite either.

I will opt to wisely respect the moderators, but I can only agree with Thom disagreeing with Asterion. I tell you more, Thom, there's no doubt in my mind that there is dirty money under the table and little mobster games in da backstage, things like Vitaly being given an emeritus status to start his comeback where he left off - injured - same thang with Oleg Maskaev who only made one successful title defense against some Japanese based Ugandan Peter Okhello ( probably the most meaningless WBC HWT title fight in quite some years side by side with the Rahman-Toney snore-fest)... Hwts like Toney and Betchelder have to juice up for a stupid fight nobody cares about, Toney and Rahman are a complete disrespect to all other pro athletes in the game and both Briggs and McCline are very close to the former, Golota, McCall, Gomez, Ruiz, they're all largely un-heralded and un-charismatic... I don't see any aura in the "Eastern Block" fighters, they all look dreadful and now Peter ironically takes the medicine he provided Wlad with, 3 f***in knock-downs and still wins the fight? McCline should hang em up just for dat s***! I believe there are skilled guys like Byrd and Wlad but one is feather fisted and the other doesn't have a fighting heart... Thom, I will give ya a ring call when some meaningful ( but still idiotic) unification fight happens in the heavies, something like a static Olympic sword fight style, jab/counter jab type with Wlad and Tony Thompson. Keep debating about these guys that I will continue to enjoy great fighters displays in other divisons.

That's exactly what it is. It was funny after the fight how Sam Peter tried to say he slipped and those were the reason's he got knocked down :yep :yep

Oh **** a familiar face what's good main???

Wlad could be the Pac-Man of the heavyweight division if he wasn't so damn scared to be hit because he's powerful enough to just go out there and do damage but he also has had stamina issue's it's more than the chin.

Cmon people yall need to realize something..He just fought James Toney and he lost in the first fight...Forced to fight Toney again both defensive fights against a natural 160-168lber who has NO power at 200lbs!!!...Peter musta forgot what real heavyweights punch like because they sure as hell don't punch like James Toney!!! He took tons of leather against Wlad, But his chin has not been tested in a REAL long time, basically his chin had not been tested since he fought Wlad. His chin had a bit of ring rust.

It was pretty unexpected the way it played out.

Peter got knocked down at the end of the 2nd. I didnt think he was hurt. He got up fine and went to his corner. His feet were both side by side and McCline caught him with a uppercut in close. It looked like he fell from bad balance.

Then in the 3rd he gets dropped twice and each time he got up, he was staggering bad, the ref was watching him closely to make sure he could continue.

As the fight when on, McCline tired and was breathing heavy. Peter won on activity down the stretch. I didnt keep track of rounds but I think Peter won enough to get the decision.

McCline showed a good chin, he took a lot of Peters shots flush and kept going.
