If that's the case, why didn't he wait to make a deal with Pac after Hatton? He could have made it 8 months out and had plenty of time for a tuneup. IMO, this fight did not come from Mayweather, it came about because of Pacquiao's success. It became obvious to the world and Mayweather has no choice but to take the fight, live or die.

    Disagree.

It is called hype...........and Maywether wants it all because it translates in mega $$$$$.

Plus he saw what Pac did to a opponent he not already had beat before...........he did not outbox or outsmart Cotto , he outslugged him while taking some major punishment in return.

He ain't gonna outslug Mayweather becuase PBF does not engage in trench warfare , he will box and I think we are in unaminous agreement that Pac is not going to outbox PBF. No way no how.

He has the punchers chance, thats it.

they will realize that floyd is not only a pure boxer but also a fast runner

  6. DLH didnt even come to the fight with his jab that night. I don't know why he decided to do that, but that's his business. His game plan was to cut off the ring and pound Floyd with aggressive flurries before Floyd could get away. He was reasonably effective in the early rounds but he tired and his bursts became less frequent and then they stopped all together. Personally I think a fighter like Floyd who relies on throwing few punches might be vulnerable to a high-energy fighter like PAC.

While that sounds good in theory the practical application is different. DLH got countered. Hard. And Often. And that was a DLH at 154 with a little more in the tank than a year and a half later at 147.That is the reason his punchout went down because of the accurrate counters.

Same will happen to Manny, the activity level will go way down because he is goona pay for his agression, every time, that is the bread and butter of PBF's game.

The blueprint lies in the Marquez fights and to an extent in the first Morales fight, he became much more cautious of the return fire and his punchstats proof it. In his last three fights he could do whatever he wanted to do because if there was a counter he saw it from a mile away. That ain't the case with Mayweather, he will make him pay dearly up to the point when Pac is gonna be reluctant to let his hands fly .

Unca Roger don't need any damned tapes. No game plan either!

  10. A proper examination of DLH's decline would suggest otherwise. The main characteristic of his "shotness" was an inability to pull the trigger. His punch output became less and less and you saw his performance in his last fight. To attribute his fade against Floyd to Floyd's counters ignores everything else there is to notice about what sort of fighter DLH was at that stage of his career.

I don't see him being made to "pay" for his aggression. He just won a war with Cotto. Floyd is not a hard puncher at welterweight. Obviously he will be hit, but will those two or three flush counters he lands every rounds be enough? I'm tipping no.

This is a decent point but really I think these reflections on Marqeuz and Morales are not all that useful. Pacquiao has evolved a lot. His power has actually increased and is more relevant at the higher weights, and he is a simply a better fighter now.

And you fail to realize that Mayweather ain't Marquez and Morales. You know why Pacquiao was much more cautious of the return fire from Morales and Marquez? Its because they threw combinations at him every time. Something Mayweather ain't done for a long time and WILL NOT do against Pac. Both fighters also followed up on their shots, as compared to Mayweather who is content on throwing 1 or 2 shots and then get away. You need to do some more research about Marquez and Morales before making any comparisons between them and Mayweather. They're nothing alike.

Its funny how you accuse Pac of cherrypicking, when you yourself admitted that Floyd took this fight because Pac is tailor made for him. Isn't that called cherry-picking as well then? :patsch

Haters make me laugh sometimes, there's almost always inconsistencies and contradictions on their posts.

Pac down fall will be he only fights one way. What will he do when Mayweather takes away his best weapon. Will he have a 2nd plan, because Mayweather doesn't fight the same way every fight. He fights according to who ever he's fighting. Mayweather will be aggressive in this fight, just like he has been in all the fights against slick south paws. It's reason Pac wanted the fight in May, and more time to prepare. This will be the excuse for Pac fans. He needed more time to prepare

Mayweather is a *****. He's gonna be running all around the ring like a broke a$$ ethiopian. Manny doesnt need to watch those videos its all the same. He leads with a quick left uppercut and then backs off. He can only win by decision. No power and no real skils involved. He doesnt have the balls to fight toe-to-toe and is never willing to exchnge blows. He's a lil'biatch and everybody knows it. I will be surprise he changes his game. He's gonna be eating alot of everything from PAC man. It's gonna be a tecnical knockout by Manny. Game Over.

Sonny I saw those ancient Mexican warriors when you were still in diapers.Live. fact. Barrera and Morales took so much out of themselves it is not even funny. Marquez? His only claim to fame is giving Pac fits. Period.(Beating a shot casamayor or never was Diaz is a joke) he was always thought of the lesser of barrera/Morales. Roach figured also the same that was the reason they took the fight but forgot to realize that marquez has a chin and can box a little with a brain and not just mexican bravado. Without the knock downs Pac would have lost loopsided decisions............I agree that is monday nite quarterbacking and I am not trying to take anything away what Pac has accomplished but you guys are not using your head in assessing his abilities............he has become a little more diverersd but he still does not beat his opponents with finesse...he overpowers or overwhelms them. Fact. If that does not work his game becomes very transparent.

Fact: He ain't gonna overpower or overwhelm PBF. Sure as hell not outbox him when he could not do the same to Marquez minus the knockdowns.

He has a punchers chance , thats it ,and once some of you guys take off the rose colored glasses on fight nite the obvious will hit you square in the face.

And that is why PBF was so eager to get the fight besides the $$$$$, he read Pac like a open book...............

BTW, apparently you have never boxed or sparred.......pinpoint accurancy in single or doubles is far more damaging then flurries while looking good for fans in slow motion not too many hit the target. Any pro trainer will take the precision puncher/boxer over any volume swarmer with ok connect rate.

Oh, and I am not contradicting myself, PBF does as much cherry picking as Pac, after all its a business. PBF only took the fight with Marquez to set up the match with Pac, no other reason whatsoever.

Roach is not looking for weaknesses, he is looking for habits. Habits doesnt change.
