Murray-Limond would be a cracking fight. But Limond really is nowhere in terms of Murray's progression, good as he is.

If the Euro belt's on the table, Murray needs to go for it.

It's a shame Limond wasn't able to capitalise off the Khan fight - he put on a cracking performance, despite getting busted up later on. I've never been more excited than that night.

I've paid to see Murray on several occasions over the past 5 years and in that time I have seen very little in the way of improvement. He is one dimensional...a head down, chug forward Hatton wannabe...I haven't got a problem with that, but he and you think he is something he isn't.

Who has he fought over the past couple of years that makes you think he would do anything at euro level or above?

Thaxton - coming off the back of 3 defeats in 4 fights when he took on Murray...retired directly after the fight

Lawton - an average feather fisted fighter who likes to take on men with losing records and fails consistantly when he has ever stepped up

McAllister - Murrays best win...another featherfist who if he had stopped pissing about may well have upset the Murray applecart

Meager - The macho man who wasn't. Another featherfist (see a pattern)who had fallen out of love with game prior to the Murray fight. He retired directly after the fight.

Al Hamidi - A complete and utter featherfist with a losing record who was robbed of the decision against the Manc. I don't know who I was more gutted for that night Al Hamidi or Junior Witter

Munguia - A man coming into the fight off of 9 defeats in his last 11 fights...John Murray knows how to pick em.

Thats John Murrays slate over the past two years, not much to write home about.

Fact of the matter is that John Murray likes to bully other fighters in the ring and he achieves this by selecting opponents who have no power to keep him off, thats how he walks through opponents...move him up a level and he is in for a shock when he meets a fighter with a winning record and half decent power.

I don't disagree with a lot of that. However, Murray is young and despite the fact he is one dimensional I have a feeling there is more to come when he is tested at the higher level - i'm sure there is nothing more to come from Limond at a high level. We all know the dangers of focusing on an undefeated record but Murray has beaten everyone put in front of him to date. He has come through some solid domestic challenges and deserves a shot at the next level.

As for his record over the last few years - Limond's doesn't even come close.

    Cottier - w3 L55
    Barrett - w17 L6
    Ramogoadi - w20 L10
    Scriven - w14 L61
    Watson - w15 L5

The stats speak for themselves - Limond didn't stop one of them.

Then we are back to the Khan of 2007. What do you see there that makes you think Limond will even be on Murray's radar? I just think Murray would be way too much for him at this stage. Limond effectively stepped up twice against Khan and Arthur and got beat twice.

Limond certainly deserved a rematch with Khan though..... in fact it was an absolute disgrace that it never happened.

Murray will stop Mezaache, he isn't as hard a single punch hitter as Thaxton, who had him all but gone in the first round.

Probably a towel thrown in about the 4th or 5th.

:happyit shocking that murray is getting the lee mcallister fight but they ay they want to fight murray s would be less chance of a loss and as for murray being world class no far from it kahn would kill him i think mcallister and limond if was given a shot at murray they would both beat him
