to be fair though pacquiao was moving up in weight and did suffer a nasty cut that was the result of a headclash? my memory is hazy on the latter.

 

Bull****, Pac gets credit but when it comes to RJJ there is always an excuse, the man has beaten nearly 20 world champs but still gets zero respect for it and get called a cherry picker. Was he Cherry picken when he took on Hopkins, Toney, Hill, Griffin and Tarver?

 

Pacquiao has achieved more, but in his prime I'd still say Roy was the better fighter. He's one of the best I've ever seen at his peak. Completely and totally outclassed damn near every opponent he ever got in the ring with until the years started to catch up to him.

 

Roy never heat a unified, linear, or undisputed champion in his whole career.

Roy fighting Ruiz would be like Pac going to welterweight and fighting Isaac Hlatshway. Instead Pacquaio is fighting THE man at that weight.

 

What was Toney at 168? BTW when one unifies all the belts and beats nearly all the contenders like RJJ did at 175 that makes him the champ.

Umm No. DM was the lineal champion and 2 of those trinket belts Roy had belonged to DM. When there is already a lineal champion unifying the belts means squat. It makes you a belt collector. Nothing more.

I still gotta go with RJJ. In his day he absolutely outclassed everybody at or near his weight class and rarely lost a ROUND. imho, indisputably the greatest mw and smw ever, and second place probably couldn't give him much of a fight. Pac is still ****ing great, with a better resume, more big names and a more entertaining career, but talent wise it's RJJ.

 

Very close, Pac might be greater but Roy might have been better, its hard to tell.

I think Pac has done everything possible for a man of his ability... Roy didnt.

 

The winner of FMJ-Pac will go down as the best since Whitaker, the loser will be even with Roy with time on his side to either overtake or fall behind.

Thats my view.

 

Right now, I find it impossible to split Jones, Pac & Floyd.

This fight on march 13th is gonna answer A LOT of questions.

 

I think Roy in his prime was incredible to be honest. I think he handpicked guys, but his speed and reflexes were just unheard of. In his prime Pacman cannot touch him. Doesn't mean Roy is higher P4P, but you asked prime vs. prime, it is hard to pick against Roy when he was prime. He made Toney looked ridiculous, and Toney was a very good fighter.
