Hopkins defies the ageing process.he gave the guy who spanked Kessler,the unbeaten Joe Calzaghe a hell of a close fight.and he schooled Pavlik badly.if Danny won thisfight im sure people like you would denigrate the win but it would still be a great win IMO.having said that i don think Hopkins. a. fights in Australia b. loses to Danny but props to Danny if he can get Nard out here.i mean who would of thought RJJ would have fought in Australia a year ago.
there is more chance of Kostya Tszyu fighting Mike Tyson at the goondiwindi RSL than of Bernard Hopkins flying to australia to fight Green and earn less money than he does at home.
I don't for one second knock Danny Green for trying to get the Hopkins fight, but feel the chance of it happening (in Australia) is slim and none and slims out of town. He could MAYBE get hopkins to fight him in the States, but would have to take a very small purse to do so... My feeling is that Danny needs to do whatever it takes to get this fight!! (even if it means fighting for next to nothing) because the benefits of beating (not an easy task in itself) Hopkins, would far outweigh the purse reductions... Forget the people talking **** and saying that he's just calling out old guys blah blah blah.. He's doing a very smart thing, because he knows Bernard Hopkins is the key to the States and some big money fights... Why do you think everyone is calling out Hopkins since RJJ got beat? They know they can get payed and make a name foir themselves. Especially if Danny was the first person to stop Hopkins...
