What if Earnie Shavers had fought Joe Frazier in the fall 0f 1975? Who wins and why?

    I agree McGrain. Frazier was no doubt better than Shavers but many people would probably say Norton was better also. It's styles that make fights. It would have been interesting to have seen Frazier take on guys like Lyle, Norton, Shavers, etc. But by the mid-70's Frazier was damaged goods because of the failing eye. He was probaly boxing's version of the great Houston Oilers running back Earl Campbell. A short, brutal prime but man was it something!

    Did anyone check out the two youtube Shavers highlights? I like the one with the Method Man song. It really goes well with seeing Shavers in action.

    It's incredible that Frazier was still able to push Ali to the limit,in spite of his damaged eye !! At that time,coming into Manilla,Muhammad was still capable of beating anyone in the world.

    Frazier would have taken Shaver in about five rounds.Too much for Earnie.

    Good fight. Even though he'd be old and slow, I'd still pick Smokin Joe to win this one.

    It would be a slugfest. A past prime Frazier comes through some scares and possibliy a knockdown to score KO victory over Shavers.....

    In 1975................frazier past his prime.........to much heart for shavers.....................7 rd tko joe frazier.....shavers fought henry clark 1st but in france looked like a pile of **** 10 rd decision..........frazier of 1975 woulda fuked henry clark up bad.
