I'm lead to believe that DeGale is the biggest slapper in boxing history!

    Nice point

  2. He's only had 5 fights... people progress at different rates.

What he has shown in his pro career so far is that he is a tricky awkward fighter to box and I think he will produce his best work when he's put under pressure from a better class of fighter.

He developed a style that was perfect for the ams and won the ultimate prize. Now that suggests he has the talent to develop a style to be successful in the pros. Its not there yet but it'll come.

Andre Ward won Olympic Gold in 2004 and he just won the World Title - nearly FIVE years it took him. DeGale hasn't even been pro for 12 months yet.

Punching technique means little when your 46-0.

Your just jealous. Face it Dan. Its time to give up the ghost. Calzaghe was the greatest fighter ever. We are just jealous haterz. His punching technique was marvellous, his chin was iron, his speed beyond description, his jab made Larry Holmes blush, his power is part of the reason why Iraq surrendered so futily. Finally his opposition was perhaps the most challenging known to man.

Open your mind to the truth!

He could bang when he was older. His slaps were pretty damn heavy. I think his lack of effort in good punching technique allowed him to punch at such a high volume.

    I'd go along with that.

He still used to stand pack and pick them occasionally.

Just a lot of clueless people on here that seem to think Joe never through a big punch in his life!
