Probably because Pacquiao was landing at will and manage to KD Cotto during the 3rd and 4th round. It's obvious that Pacquiao hurt Cotto.

Bit of a newbie here fellas.

I have been a boxing fan for a couple of years now. I am amazed that the fight was at 147 and some people think the Cotto went up to 160 for the fight is that right ? Is it normal for boxers to stack some weight on after the weigh in ?

He didn't fade, he got tagged badly in the 4th by a punch he didn't see coming, when he thought he was in control of the fight. It broke him mentally, and he fought shellshocked for the rest of the fight.

For many, in this era of 30+ hours earlier weigh-ins, yes.

Neither fighter got on the HBO scale, so the fight night weights are unknown.

PAC was taking the fight outa Cotto early...by round 4...I believe when he got floored was the end. He never really recovered. Cotto looked in supurb shape for Manny...he stated he wasn't weight drained especially given the fact he was at 146 for Josh and looked even better for his fight with PAC.

Yo....Cotto looked a hell of alot better at weigh in vs PAC than he did with Josh. There's a thread which shows the two versions of Cotto side by side and an overwhelming amount of posters Pro Cotto and Pro PAC said Cotto looked better than ever. There wasn't a clause....cotto wouldn't agree to that.

just look at the cotto knockdown at the 4th round. that started him to be weak and more vulnerable to a pac attack. although cotto regained his toes on the 5th round, but that's the last salvo he make. during the rest of the round, he just ate too much bombs.. cotto just got the heart to continue than any other else....

Never weighed more than 148 on fight night? Well then why didn't he allow HBO to get his weight before getting in the ring against Marquez? Because he already weighed 146 in the weigh-in and he was ashamed he just put on a mere 2 more lbs?

    Are you NALLEGE?
    Or are you Leonard Ellerbe?
    Both?

i think cotto looked like he was around 155lbs give or take... and about the point of one poster about how cotto faded within 4 rounds, it looked more like pac took away his game plan than cotto gassed early due to his weight. pac forced him to exchange shots where surprisingly pac took his punches well, IMO it's frustrating for one boxer who expects that he has a great power advatage to realize that he suddenly cant capitalize on it anymore, i also didnt help that he got KD'd after pac took those body punches like it was nothing..

If they are of the same size then why can't they make the fight at 140. i'm sure Pac can easliy make 140 or even 138. how about floyd?
