:good A great post and a question I have often considered!!! It shall be interesting to read other peoples thoughts regarding this as most people consider a prime "Iron Mike" an ATG (Myself included) and often dismiss Klitschko, who I feel would have been a dangerous opponent for any heavyweight (Except maybe a "Peak" Ali), simply because (as you rightly point out) Vitali, at his best, had tremendous power, underrated skills, an iron chin, plenty of courage and used his physical advantages extremely effectively. Having said that, Iron Mike was so quick of hand and foot and he threw such devastating combinations that I favour a Tyson late ko/tko, maybe even on cuts:). But if anyone goes for a Klitschko win, I wont be rushing to argue with them!!:). This fight truly is a "Dream fight" that I, like many of you on here would have loved to have watched!!!

If Tyson doesn't get the stoppage he loses. Vitali is much better than the boxers Tyson faced in the 80's, Douglas, Ruddock etc. Vitali UD or late stoppage.

Every time Vitali has fought a credible fighter he has lost, Tyson at his peak is easily 10 times the fighter Vitali is.

1 last thing, today's chumps are much worse than the guys who fought in the 80s, guys like Bruno, Tucker, Spinks and old Holmes wouldn't have much trouble with today's chumps.

    Because Tyson beat them?
Frank Bruno was a 10 round boxer who fought only 4 12 rounders in his career and lost all of them except a decision over McCall.
40 year old Holmes is not a good win.
    Spinks was scared shitless.

Why did Tyson's prime end just when better fighters started fighting him?

    I

Tyson was IN his prime when Douglas took him down, and he was most certainly well trained, young, and still in his physical prime when Holy beat him..........twice.

May be true but what is your opinion based on? Vitali in with some big bangers never been down and tyson failed to stop the likes of Tilles and Greene on occasion.

    Johnson- no
Sanders- 38 yr old out of shape golfer
    Peter-:rofl
    Arreola- Wow
    Hoffman-:patsch

All these guys are scrubs, seriously. I don't like Wlad much but he has beaten decent fighters, Vitali hasn't period. There is nothing in his resume that suggest he could beat a peak ATG Mike Tyson period.

Holyfield is an ATG that at his best could take Lewis and would wipe his ass with Vitali, furthermore he got a rusty Tyson who had served 4 yrs away from boxing but was still good enough to become the champ one more time, Vitali has never unified ****, the highlight of his career is LOSING to a SHOT Lewis.

Holyfield doesn't have the pop to seriously hurt Lewis and would lose prime or not. Tell me who has Tyson beaten that's on the level of Klitschko?
