We have the SUPER 6 on Showtime...We just had an EXPLOSIVE fight between two of the Most feared fighters in the Sport (Martinez/Williams)...This weekend Showtime has two UNDEFEATED Jr. Welterweights (Bradley/Peterson)...HBO has a grudge-match (Diaz/Mallinaggi)...We just had Bute/Andrade & Funeka/Guzman on HBO...

AND NOW KELLY PAVLIK IS FIGHTING A 5TH PLACE FINISHER OF A REALITY SHOW (THE CONTENDER) ON PPV????

THAT'S A DMAN SHAME:-(...NOT ONLY SHOULD THIS FIGHT BE FREE...BUT IT SHOULD BE ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL!!!

I can't imagine anyone paying for this fight!!!

If it is, so what. TV dates are sparse. If they want a smaller, regional PPV, so be it. There's no gun to your head or any elses.

Don't worry, it won't be long before PPV kills the sport with actually interesting matches and we won't have worry about it any more. But seriously, it's not so much the PPV...it's that it's a forty dollar PPV. I mean, if I were a diehard fan of somebody and they were in a lower caliber bout like this, maybe I would buy it if it were 3-5 dollars. But not forty goddamn dollars.

Not really much choice. He has to defend the belt and HBO isn't going to be picking this one up... Vs doesn't do boxing anymore... friday night fights season is over...

They probably figure that most Pavlik fans will either be in attendance or watching it streaming. I doubt Arum could be expecting much over 50,000 buys for this.

FU Pavlik. I had a lot of respect for the guy for being a take-all-comers type of fighter. But its either his management or trainers that have decided to hold him back since the mis-calculated Hopkins beating, especially as blatantly dodging Paul Williams by pulling out of the fight citing injury and then fighting Espino so soon after

I'm not so sure about PPV killing boxing anymore. That used to be my opinion...but...as time is progressing I am seeing a hell of a lot of livestreams popping up. Over the last 2 years or so its become increasingly easier to find a PPV card on a live stream. And the quality of the streams is improving drastically as well. I watched Vitali vs Arreola on a beautiful stream...HD quality....no lag...free lol. I can't remember the last time I missed a card...and the last one I bought was DLH vs PBF. I'm starting to think that the internet will kill PPV long before PPV kills boxing.

Will Pavlik's skinhead brother be in his corner for this joke of a fight, or is he still in jail for beating the **** out of his old lady?

I'm a boxing fan in general and ALWAYS buy the PPV bouts. I love this sport and I don't care who I am supporting. Usually 6 or 7 fights on PPV a year. 40.00 x 7=280.00/12=23.33 average per month. Look at it that way and it won't look that bad.

Latin Fury cards are always PPV, and they always sell at $39.95. I realize some people are mystified by this fact, but for those of us who actually follow the sport it's no great mystery.

Lets face it booradley, Pavlik is not really popular on tv in which is why he's facing bum fighters on ppv instead of regular tv. Pavlik vs Espino could easily be on espn or on vesus.
