Ward vs. Taylor set for April. Lou Dibella refuses to promote Jermain.

It's nice to see a promoter who cares about his fighter. He could have stayed with Jermain and made some $ off teh Ward fight, but he put Jermain's health first, good for him.

 

JT is done. He will announce his retirement soon. Dibella had to steo away first to give JT the space to make rhe statement on his own. Great person, great career. But the end has come...

Where was Dibella's conscience when he sent him into the ring with heavy-handed Arthur Abraham, immediately after crying to JT in his Connecticut hotel room about how much he loved him after the knockout loss to Froch? According to Dan Rafael's article, LDB had serious doubts about Taylor's future after that fight, but then, instead of insisting on a tune up or two, signs him up to consecutive fights against no less than three of the world's most dangerous 168 lbers.

If he really had a conscience, he'd send Taylor a check for the amount his cut was for promoting the AA fight.

 

I am not sure what happened to Taylor. I wonder if he hadn't had the Pavlik knockout if he would have been able to have a long career. He still might, but his stamina is a problem. He never had a great gameplan in fights.

Solid post. JT will throw a few head butts of his own, but you are correct.

 

Ward is working on the heavy bag with his head. He has his referee to legalized head butts in his fights. Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got all his fights in his home town. Ward would not allow Bute to fight in the tournament, and I can see why. Bute is faster, punches harder, better stamina, better foot work, he would knock Ward out and Ward knows it.

 

This will be Jermain's 11th consecutive fight against a current or recent world titlist, world champion, or IBHOF level fighter.

 

I'm 100% sure that JT will surprise us this time. He'll win the title, I tell ya.

 

I dont understand how anybody can dislike Jermaine Taylor. Hes a throwback fighter.
