will Vitali get credit if he ko's Johnson early

He don't see anything to be cautious of with Johnson, whereas Arreola at least had a puncher's chance of landing a hail mary.....Johnson has no hail mary power.......

I think VK will get on him early and hard. Instead of throwing only mobile arm punches, I think he may want to make a statement, and may sit down on his shots in order to get him outta there in dramatic fashion.....so as to reestablish his KO power with this fight. Neither Arreola nor Peter fell.......But Gomez did.

But Vitali needs a good powerful KO, about now. :good

Johnson is unproven, so if he fades into Bolivia after losing to Vitali, then all he'll be known for is losing to Klitschko and accomplishing jack. If he makes noise in the division for the next few years, then he's a name of note on Vitali's resume. This is all assuming Vitali wins tonight, of course.

Lennox was in a similar position a decade ago. Imagine if Grant and Tua had dominated the past 10 years of heavyweight boxing like some hyped them to do. They've done nothing, so Lennox's resume didn't really take a jump for their names specifically.

That would be good to see. I do hope Johnson puts up a bit of a fight so we get a bit of a show though. Do you think we'll get a competitive fight at all?

A simply awnser no nobody knows how good Johnson is. If he gets koed He is a bum if He beat Vitaly is a bum because Vitlay is shot. Thats are the awnsers when the fight is onver.

 

Vitali is fighting Johnson for one reason and one reason only. Johnson is an American fighter and maybe the second best American boxer out there. Thus, the fight has crossover or at least an international appeal to it. Johnson also is a huge guy who came to the fight in great shape, a true heavyweight , unlike Eddie Chambers, an elusive but diminuative boxer, who just doesn't look the part of a heavyweight prizefighter. The average man wants to see huge men duke it out when they tune in to see a HEAVYWEIGHT fight and Johnson, Vitali fit that bill in spades.

 

I'd like to see Vitali (who is a proven puncher) actually knock someone out as opposed to beat them up till they quit.

Just for the excitement factor.

 

I think the answer to this question will be determined on how Kevin Johnson's career turns out.

Anytime you beat a young, in shape and un-defeated fighter in a title match, the champion should get a little credit.

Johnson is big, in shape, has a world class jab, has never been floored as a pro, and is un-defeated. He's not known as a big puncher, but he enters the match having 3 KO wins in a row. Johnson has also sparred with quite a few top fighters. On the other hand he is un-tested in the top ten level.

 

I picked Vitali to beat Peter, and comprehensively dismissed any notion that Arreola had a chance. Vitali is a damn good fighter, but people are getting carried away by the fact they like him.

Johnson is a worse opponent than Arreola was. Vitali gets credit for beating Arreola because at least he had some evidence of ability. Johnson's best wins are against Bruce Seldon, who was ten years past his prime and not much good anyway, and Devin Vargas, another fat US HW, who lost to Arreola in the amateurs if I recall right.

What credit does he deserve for beating an unproven, unimpressive HW like Johnson?

 

He will get some credit but it will be just another victory behind his belt of a good opponent but not a great one.

 

Johnson's a bum. He ain't never fought nobody. All he is is alotta mouth. Of course Vitali's gonna mop the floor with him. What makes Johnson deserving of a title shot??? Nothing, that's what. The whole fight is a waste of time.

 

After being stopped on cuts. Lewis didn't need Klitschko by that point. Fact is he lost, same as he lost to Byrd.
