He took some brutal beatings near the end of his career by up and comers who wanted his name on their record.

Iran was a very good fighter, but he wasn't great. He would give anyone a hard time because he took a great punch and never quit, but he was a defensive disaster, and not very skilled at anything. I highly doubt he could have been a champion today.

Yes, he beat Tommy Hearns, but hey, SRR lost to Randy Turpin. Some good fighter just have a way of beating great fighters.

Just like Steward he underestimated what he saw.

Kelly is big, tall, rangey, strong, powerful and relentless in every way. Mentally he will not give in, physically he'll keep moving forward and its bombs, bombs, bombs.

Kelly also appears to be intelligent - he can survive, he thinks about range and timing, plus he can stick to game plans.

I would favor Taylor and Pavlik over Barkley but Barkley was a tough SOB. He beat Hearns twice.

Great. An opinion from a brain-damaged Barkely.
