He does well against guys who are past it like tonight why the set ups how stupid are we? Madaina would have crushed that guy in 1rd, I would rather have seen him but I guess Vics the guy with the contract right?

He's got immense potential, personality and is a GBP based fighter.

I really think he'll go places in his career sooner or later although I agree, the set ups are a little frustrating. The curtain has been lifted, you might as well put on the show.

You're letting one incident (perhaps an aberration) cloud your judgment on his potential. He is very skilled.

My point exactly sure he will look good against setups but he just doesnt have that fire.

That was the most gutless post fight commentary ever displayed. It didnt cloud my judgment of him it informed me what kind of fighter he really is. The guy doesnt belong in the boxing ring and he is a discredit to all the great fighters who have put their justly deserved lives on the line in the boxing ring.

I hope Ortiz gets buried in the ring, literally.

I think that remains to be seen. I've seen Ortiz in some bloody brawls where he looks pretty much cooked before he comes back to win. Then we have the bombs away performance against Maidana where he more or less wimped out in the end. Truthfully, the answer lies in the middle on his courage/fire/heart.

I think the time has pretty much come to push his ass into the pool and see what happens. I'm not in control of GBP of course but I would offer Katsidis a substantial sum of money to step up to 140 to take on Ortiz. A relentless come forward slugger with good power would really test Victor's will and desire. If Katisidis isn't willing to do it, I think Paulie Malignaggi is the second best option for such an occasion.

There's really no point in arguing with you on this..but I'm telling you that you're being ridiculously harsh on a young kid who had his eye towards his future. Boxing is a cruel unforgiving sport and if a kid believes in living to fight another day, I in good conciense cannot hold him in contempt.

Would I have liked him to just STFU and give props to Maidana? Absolutely. I just believe his reasoning was sound for what happened.

I like that kid, actually. He's very talented and a jolting puncher. Nobody is pushing him on me, I want to see him fight.

The thought of Pauli vs Ortiz doesnt excite my imagination in the slightest
how about Pauli vs Madaina and Ortiz vs Kahn and the winners face each other thats the kind of situations HBO should make happen

Ortiz is a flawed individual. He can be easily distracted. He was very distracted in the fight where he chose to quit. He is young tho and his future seems bright
