because people on these boards are idiots....hes had 7 heavyweight championship fights in 6 years. going 6-1. and losing to the only threat of those 7 fights.
1. Muhammad Ali 2. Joe Louis 3. Rocky Marciano 4. Lennox Lewis 5. Riddick Bowe 6. Evander Holyfield 7. George Foreman 8. Mike Tyson 9. Larry Holmes 10. Joe Frazier 11. Sonny Liston 12. Gene Tunney 13. Jack Dempsey 14. Vitali Klitschko 15. Wladimir Klitschko
He's an ATG...even in an awkward fight, he's still dominant... every great fighter faces opponents who's style doesn't make for scintillating performance, but Vitali still won every round of that fight against an undefeated fighter who has never hit the canvas. Is Ali not an ATG even though he looked less than stellar against Chuck Wepner? Most give Lennox Lewis the credit he deserves even after being knocked out with one punch by Hasim Rahman. So people really should consider the fact that Vitali dominated a really awkward opponent last night as something impressive.
Right now, the poll is a pretty narrow split for no. I'll bet if he can get Haye in the ring, beat Haye, and maybe add Solis and Valuev, that would just split the other way. And make no mistake about it- he will beat Haye. He had not lost a single round in his comeback fights. Haye fans are making too much over an unimpressive performance against Valuev, and a win over a faded contender who has celarly become a gatekeeper.
the exact same can be said about vitali's wins over two poster boys for diabetes and an unproven feather fisted HW. neither of their wins are of any significance IMO, but judging from vitali's lackluster performance from last night, haye's chances against him are looking even better. vitali was slow, stiff, and did nothing to change his gameplan. he won on workrate, far from what i would call a "DOMINATING" performance.
"Is Vitali Klitschko an ATG?" http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177694 This is a thread from about 2 months ago. 55.6% said "yes" back then. Now there are only 45,9% of people with the same opinion. Earlier I wrote that V. Klitschko just looks so impressive in front of fighters with no skills that he likes to fight. The funny thing is, one more picked bum is enough to let his reputation fall so much. Imagine, how it would sink if he fought a much stronger fighter. There should be the same poll after the Haye fight.
