Darren barker vs andy lee who takes this one? i mean these guys are both ready for a shot at the EBU title after the winner of macklin vs pirog and are most likely next in line... what about a title eliminator for the EBU strap???:bbb

Right now it's a Barker UD for me, he's much better defensively and is very accurate with his right hand.

Although Lee might cause him problems at times when he can keep it at range, I could just see barker landing that right hand too much and winning quite convincingly.
Both men have the power to put the other in trouble(with Lee probably the bigger puncher) but I think a stoppage would be unlikely.

Agreed I think Barker's defence would be the difference, they are both decently skilled. Not that Barker's really fought anyone to prove his defence but you just get the impression its tighter.

    Lee is extremely over-hyped.

Having seen both I think Barker is a class above.

    Alright Fella?

Yeah I don't think the promoters will risk a meeting untill one of them has a world title.

My money would be on Barker though. He has a lot of class and a very good right hand. Sometimes would like to see him commit a bit more when he has the fighter in trouble but he does have a very dood defence.

Lee still hasn't recovered fron the vera loss mentally. Hasn't impressed me since he bet willie gibbs. He needs to step up. Lee has fantastic technical ability, but his stamina has looked suspect lately.

    Barker wins this one...

Barker had a much better defence and has a much better relaxed boxing style to beat Lee... I think that in a fight with Macklin it will show if his defence is what the majority of us make it out to be...

Whatever happens a Macklin v Barker fight will be excellent...:good

Lee is very under rated, justly so after his last few fights but he has the ability to beat both barker and macklin.

I can't see him winning either of those but I'm there to be proved wrong.

Lee is as about under-rated as Dunne and Duddy were...

Some of the most over-hyped fighters in the last few years have all been Irish :deal

Tell me then where lee is over hyped, lee has been written off since he lost to Vera and no-one outside of Ireland and the Kronk has any time for him. Bernard dunne is a fantastic boxer unfortunately he has little/no chin but he has a great skillset, and as for Duddy i personally don't rate him very highly i think he's an entertainer but if he gets in to the ring with Pavlik i think KP could very well finish john's career.

Lee shows glimpses of world class ability but mostly does'nt seem mentaly up for it. Would need to be on his game against a sharp and motivated Barker. From what I've seen Barker would be too sharp. He looks like he has the ability to adapt to whatever style he is up against and makes very few mistakes. Big fan of Barkers. Some big fights for him next year.
