Which Current or Recently Retired Fighter Would You Want as a Trainer??

I'm going with B-Hop.

 

Hopkins is very good.
If I were a boxer I would like to have Barrera to be my trainer. Garry Peñalosa would also be good.

 

Idk sometimes the crappy fighters make great trainers, like Freddie Roach...

 

Floyd would be a pretty good trainer

 

yea like they have a good boxing mindset but lacks the physical skill.
thats why i hate when people say "you cant do it".
just cause i cant do it doesn't not mean i don't know what i am talking bout.

 

Nah...in training a fighter, and trainer has to put the fighter first, and I can't imagine Mayweather putting anyone first. But like some others said, I think Bernard Hopkins would make an excellent trainer. Anyone hear him rattling off advice to Kelly Pavlik after beating his ass?

 

Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray leonard would be awesome!

 

I love to see Grady Brewer take a shot at training. He owns a boxing gym now, and is working with some young amatuers.

 

B HOP would be great. Also Winky Wright, and I think Roy Jones. If you watch old roy fights, when hes taking his rest in the corner hes talking to Coach merc about what his opponent does when he throws a hook and discuss a way to break his guy down. ROy knows boxing like the back of his hand just like BHOP, roy was a good commentator as well too.

 

Mike Tyson. He's a student of the game and would probably make a great trainer.

Iron Mike would be the best trainer, if he was dedicated to it.

 

I was thinking Duran, but i would pick Holyfield,...erm disagree about leonard, you seen what he would be like as a traininer during the contender season 1 dont think it really suited him

 

I sure don't see guys like Hopkins or Tyson being good at it. They don't have the patience and would expect/demand instantaneous results. They're far better at working on themselves than attempting to teach & would be about as successful as Saad Muhammad was at dedicating all of his time to help someone else and not themselves.

I think a Chris Byrd could pull it off because of his temprement and he's a sharp and dedicated guy.

 

marquez once he retires would make an excellent trainer, the guy has one of the best ring iq's in boxing.....who wouldn't want to have his brain in your corner during a fight....
