I really want to see david tua get another shot at the title

he needs to get another promoter and manager. If he signed with DK promotions, he would have his title fight and i would pick him to defeat David Haye.

This would be his best chance...i wouldn't want to see him in the ring with either klitshcko; he's just way too small to be competitive with those guys.

 

David Tua has to finish his contract with New Zealand Boxing, he has 3 more fights to go.

Tua will likely face Haye once the contract is over, if Haye beats Ruiz in April next year.

:good He may well beat David Haye, whom I am having some difficulty in considering a bone fide world champion (And i'm a fan!!) but Haye wont be champion by the time Tua beats enough stiffs to con people into getting a title shot! Tua would be fighting against a Klitschko, and he would fight against either brother in the same manner that he did against Lewis! Tua's performance against Lennox, when David was in his "Prime" was abject and it would be against Vitali/Wlad!!

Seriously, I quite agree, Tua is doing nothing to earn a title shot, and judging by his next two scheduled fights, he has no intention of doing so in the near future! There are others more deserving, let's hope they get their shot!

Simmo mate, the points you make regarding David Tua's beard, durability and punching power are not in dispute and he may very well beat David Haye (As if that fight will ever happen!!) but David Tua is doing absolutely nothing to justify us even talking about him getting another shot!! His next two opponents were scheduled to be Bruce and Friday!! Come on mate, what are those fights going to prove in terms of credibility? Tua may look devastating in both (Though I have heard that Seldon is injured) but it isn't too difficult to look great against poor opposition! David Tau is way past "Prime". He's 37 now, isn't he? And his limitations, which are well documented will only be exaggerated. Let us not forget that in his "Prime" his performance in his title fight with Lewis was abject Simmo mate, it truly was!! The fact that two rubbish champions in Ruiz and Maskaev have been title-holders dosen't mean a guy who beat them years ago deserves a chance without fighting a credible opponent or two! There are many out there who could provide Tua with the necessary credibility, were he to beat them. It seems to me that at present Tua isn't intersted in fighting credible opposition and perhaps we should come back to this when he does!

 

Im a kiwi and a tua fan, but simply the reason Ruiz and co got many title shots are
They signed to decent promoters
They were actively fighting to earn shots.
Tua went into hiding blaming a dispute with Barry and Pugh....could have stayed active though and not only stayed relevant, but also eaned his $$

I,too,would gladly prefer watching his fight a world champ to watching Ruiz get his 20th shot at a world title,but Tua hasnt deserved it.
He barely beat Hawkins by point decison and knocked out a totally unknown New Zealand club fighter in one of his last fights.These kind of victories dont qualify anyone to get a shot at a world title IMO.
On the other hand someone like Johnson whose call to fame is a victory over Vargas and a draw with Timur did get a shot at Vitaly.Why not Tua??
Anyway!

If his upcomming fight with Friday really comes off we all will know more about him and his future.
Friday is a teak tough cookie who chin is beyond any doubt!
I wont be surprised to watch Friday upset the apple cart and beat Tua!!!

 

I'm surprised you mentioned Maskaev and Ruiz without Moorer. To me, Moorer is the most impressive scalp. 3-time heavyweight champion who beat Holyfield. Moorer was out in the first round against Tua too.

 

I respect your opinion, but imo David Tua will never be world champion and I do not believe that he would knock out Vitali, simply because Vitali would "Shut him down" like he does to all his opponents. And Tua is easy to "Shut down". Just watch him, in his prime, be easily "Shut down" by Lennox Lewis. As for you claiming that David Tua is going to be the next great heavyweight, I think your having us on, you little tinker

 

:good Well put mate!! David Tua could easily have remained a serious contender, but he hasn't fought often enough and against sufficient quality of opposition to be considered! Maybe he will "Get a move on" and in a year get the big fight that he craves. I for one would be delighted to see him back amongst the top contenders, but right now, I don't consider him to be a contender.

Tua's had plenty of shots. Just he always loses when he gets near the top of the rankings. Probably because he's not very good.
