    Hey Guys

I think this is a fabulous match up because in their respective primes they were comparable in weight (Between 208 - 213). Both legends are the same height and are comparable in terms of speed and stamina.

I think the fight would be a pure boxing match a lot like Holmes vs. Witherspoon. It could possibly have been one of the best tactical match ups in history.

I edge towards Holmes on the jab but with great trepidation. It's definately a distance fight (either 12 or 15). Neither guy could stop the other!

    Thoughts!

Tough fight to call, but Holyfield had pretty quick hands and feet in his prime, he would have always given Holmes a tough fight. Never saw Holmes actually defeat a fighter on a prime Holys level in his prime either.

Holmes has a longer reach and a half inch advantage in height, which is incidental. Holmes was 209lbs for Norton and Holyfield was 208lbs for Douglas. Size wise they are as matched as you could hope for...

Great point actually! The best young opponents he faced were Witherpoon, Williams and Smith and he struggled with all three. He was slightly past it against these fighters though!

Good point would go the same way the Lewis fights went, Holyfield struggled at HW against good jabs

I agree Holy had issues against a good jab and Holmes Jab was lethal ..but i think his movement and handspeed would prevail ...
Definate points fight ..Holmes couldnt be stopped ..and wouldnt mount a sufficient combo to force the ref to stop fight
