I missed the first match and saw it today and I must say its probably one of the best fights I have ever seen. Both Oscar and Shane rocked each other. I have never seen Shane get rocked like he did in that fight. In the last round Shane tried to ko Oscar...wow

Yea but Shane's performance is tainted either in 1 or 2 because of the "you know wussup"

Great fight. Even though I'm a big Mosley fan I strongly feel DLH did enough to win the 2nd fight. I'll rewatch it next week and watch DLH-Trinidad aswell.

yea, oscar was in control of 3/4 of the 2nd fight with Mosley. Everyone in the bar that night -- even Oscar haters -- were surprised with the outcome. Even Mosley was surprised. lol

De La Hoya and Mosley's first fight was a real classic battle. Unfortunately - it was overshadowed by the drama of the first Morales/Barrera fight a few months before and then forgotten by the end of the year with the advent of the classic Trinidad/Vargas fight. 2000 had some great great fights.

Shane used balco steroids in the first fight, thats why it was even closer in the second fight but i still had SSM winning the second by one rd.

Mosley used steroids and EPO in the rematch, not the first fight (at least not that we know of).

DLH did better in the rematch as he had a smarter game plan, boxing at range more and not getting into as many exchanges, where Mosley excels. Also, Mosley never really looked good at 154 (except against a shopworn Vargas in the rematch).

Honestly, revisionists kill me! It was the second fight Shane had the Balco roids fopr support.
The first fight was definitely a Shane win, he was landing that right hand all night, his speed was outrageous, beating Oscar upside the head everytime he dared throw the Jab.

The second fight i had for Oscar 8-4, Mosley looked totally out of sorts, oscar looked badly hurt from the clash of heads in the 9th i think, and after that went into survival mode, allowing Shane to win the last 3 rounds easily, that really cost him, cos before that his Jab had neautralised anytime Shane tried anything.

you knew Mosley had lost, cos he looked generally surprised after his name was called out, and also his dad telling him he needed a KO in the last round, and then in the interview saying he thought Oscar had nicked a draw lmao
