This is why compubox numbers is horrible for the sport. You people dont even look at the fight you let the numbers tell the story. Thats not how it works, Calzaghe dominated Hopkins in both the landed and thrown department of their fight does that mean Calzaghe dominated that fight?

I would like to see Nazim train Williams. I think Nazim will help Williams in a big way but since Williams wants to fight Mosley so bad, Nazim will not on Williams hit list as a new trainer. Williams does need a new trainer. I like Peterson but sometimes i feel like Peterson doesn't know what to say to Williams in the courner. It's the same with Pavlik in which Pavlik needs a new trainer cause all Jack Loews mostly say is "double the ****ing jab" Please Jack say something different for a change. And Pavlik needs to work on blocking punches correctly and Jack just doesn't know how to help Pavlik that.

I can't disagree with you here at all. It seems like with the right backing, you don't even need to establish yourself by consistently beating your peers anymore- why bother doing it the hard way when you can get a P4P spot with a couple good wins while guys who consistently win and defend titles never make it? Potential is now getting rewarded as much, if not more, than accomplishment for some of these spots.

Yahoo actually had him ranked #3 overall heading into the Martinez fight. He's a perfect example of what I mentioned in the "overused terms" thread of a very good fighter who's still overrated.

Well stated. Top 5 was too high IMHO. Lower top 10 is probably more realistic.

Even if he can still make 147 i dont want to see him at that weight.....hes moved up too much he needs to just dominate the middlewieght/jrmiddlewieght divisions....everyone at 147 is scared to fight him except clottey anyways and u can make him come to 154 along with a rejuvinated Margarito and at 160 you have Pavlik so....Paul has no business fighting at 147 PERIOD!!!!

You're hitting on the very reason I have become an advocate of PW staying at 154. Martinez is a better and more skilled boxer than Zuniga or Miranda, but use your imggination for a moment and try to picture PW taking the shots he takes if they were coming from Zuniga, Miranda, or Pavlik:yikes

Of course but whats that got to do of who throws more, landed more in total of the whole rounds? I guess hbo should hire you cause you can keep up of who throws, landed more punches. :rofl

I don't think the top WW's were scared to fight him. They were just looking at bigger fights. Williams was the odd man out, as Margarito often was too in holding the WBO belt. But there are good fights to be made at 154 and 160. Probably best to ignore 147.
