    Intrigued by this.

    Is McAllister with Warren?

He did talk about Khan in the lead up to capturing the WBU Lightweight Title recently - something along the lines of when hes ready to step up hes welcome to fight me.

If Khan does fight Earl next I think he will need to beat him convincingly (and thats not a foregone conclusion yet) for Warren to risk him with Thaxton so these may not be back to back fights.

Thaxton's last display wasn't particularly impressive but even with a poor performance he still won and that was against a very worthy challenger in Stewart. Warren is a businessman and won't judge Thaxton solely on that showing.

If Khan does live up to his claims and proves he is the best lightweight in Britain by clearly beating this pair that will be impressive in its own right.

However, whether beating two domestic fighters who may be in decline
is enough of a learning curve for the next level remains to be seen.
Khan is not known for his patience and my fear is that he will place himself on the world scene before he is truly ready. I hope this isn't the case.

Didnt Warren say in the post fight interview that his (khan) next fight would be on Dec 8th and it would be for "another title". WBU has traditionally been a "Warren belt". Mcallister fought Docherty for the title on the same night as Khan fought Lawton. Just a guess and someone that everyone else is overlooking.

At the end of the day Khan is a potential meal ticket for every lightweight in the UK. If they were to beat him it'd elevate them. If they lose, well, so what it'll still be the biggest pay day available.

I hadn't considered McAllister v Khan until you threw his name into the hat.

I know McAllister now has the WBU Title but not sure his KO record (5 out of 26 bouts) is respectable enough for Khan now.

If McAllister is not in Warren's stable of fighters I think he is more likely to plump for one of his own next so that could be a factor.

If Khan v McAllister were to happen do you think both belts (WBU & Commonwealth) would be on the line in a 'winner takes all' scenario?

Well kahn would be a world champion before his predictions, however the wbu belt isn't really much but he would still be a world champion in name.

Khan has had a lot of critics about his opposition since turning pro, myself being one of those critics.

If he fights Earl, followed by Thaxton, then whatever the outcome, they would be a big step in competition. You would have to award credit to Khan if this turns out to be his next two bouts.

Wait & see though. One senses Frank Warren is not entirely happy about all this talk of Khan fighting for a world title in five fights time etc.

At some stage, probably in the near future if it does happen, there may be some sort of disagreement between Khan & Warren. Frank has been around a lot longer than Amir, so knows what's it's all about. Warren knows one loss & that's it. Boom! Khan's marketing value would go downhill.

Look at Naseem Hamed for example. Not saying Khan will go the same way, but you never know in life, let alone boxing!
