    I remember the Saad-McIntyre fight. I actually picked McIntyre to win, because I figured Saad would be shot as a result of age and his recent loss to Qawi. I speculated that Saad was ready to be beaten by a hard-hitting clubfighter.

    Interestingly, a year later Saad was indeed shockingly kayoed by a clubfighter. In his first comeback fight, against Eric Winbush (who had a 9-6 record), Saad was blasted out in three rounds.

    I read about the KO loss to Winbush in the paper..... I never saw the fight.... I doubt it was even filmed or televised anywhere....... But yes, that pretty much ended Saad's chances of ever regaining his past form or title...... But Saad hung on for several more years murdering his reputation and legacy.......

    I didn't even know that Saad was fighting Winbush until I saw in the paper that he had been kayoed. My reaction was complete shock. I had never heard of Winbush, even though I read all the boxing magazines. His 9-6 record was even more stunning.

    Just goes to show that excellent fighters can sometimes lose their ability overnight. Years of punishment and physical deterioration sometimes appear suddenly and dramatically.

    I always thought that Quawi/Marciano would've been one of the all time great brawls and the outcome would be up for grabs. No sure winner in this IMO.

    Qawi, in my opinion, just had Saad's number..at any time or era of both men's career. Qawi wins it no matter when.

    I know styles make fights, but I too believe Qawi beats most of the mo-fo's from the early 70s thru the middle 80s.......... I think Qawi could beat "Galindez, Conteh, Eddie M.M. & Marvin Johnson" if they were matched according to prime versions of one another.......... Qawi CANNOT beat "Foster or Spinks." And we already know that Qawi can kill a shot / faded Saad M... Prime-4-prime, Qawi was still more skilled than the rugged Saad M.........

    Saad had a more balanced and versatile skillset than Qawi, while Dwight was totally one-dimensional, but veyr technical and did a smaller range of things extremely well.

    I also think Qawi's will to win was a bit more inconsistent than most of the others.I don't rate him quite as highly head to head as a lot do.

    Not that it matters but he was Dwight Braxton when he fought Saad,but what did matter was he Dwight seemed to go down hill after he changed his name,he was awesome as dwight Braxton

    Braxton / Qawi it is all religious bull**** to me.... Who cares??? Same thing when Live Bramble became a nutty rastafarian and changed to "Ras-I-Alujah" Bramble or something lame like that.... It seemed dumb....... But I care less.......

    Qawi began to slide after his '83 Spinks fight / loss on HBO..... By that time Qawi was starting to struggle to make 175 pounds.... Once Qawi said later to 175, he slipped a bit at 190 pounds..... Yet, he was still good enough to beat some South African / Europe dude for the title there and hammer away at Leon Spinks in brutal fashion.... Qawi is KOOL!
