The 10 mil proposed penalty would be in place to assure that Floyd won't breech the agreed upon weight. It could be 100 mill, 1 bill, or whatever; the idea is to set the number at a high enough amount to deter Floyd coming in heavy and thus giving himself a geater in-ring advantage.

I know I have gave blood and have taken blood test on numerous occasions. When you donate blood, you need a couple of hours to recuparate your energy. However, when I have taken blood test, I finished and did not miss a beat. It is no pain or soreness, they put a bandaid on the needle hole and after about an hour I remove the band-aid. What I would like to hear is their reasoning for the thirty days. This is quite puzzling

i love really how GBP and floyd's camp are coordinated in releasing press news like this.

shaeffer, floyd and ellerbe: "oh pacquiao doesn't want a drug test within 30 days of the fight, i say he is a *****." ;)

Let me get this straight. Pacquiao has a "superstition" against drug testing for steroids or other drugs? That's a hell of a superstition.

This is just the beginning of the drama:lol:, lets take it even further back and forget the 15 rounder. Who ever gets ko, tko, or fighters quits or corner stops it. Other than that fight must go on, for all the drama and suffering boxing fans have gone through.

Me too. I've had a feeling for the last week or so that something would happen to end the fight. Sucks as my flight is booked and I scored a great room for that weekend that will be cancelled if the fight is off.

Manny has every right to refuse this kind of testing, this is not normal for any fighter to have to go through having the rules changed just because Floyd is insecure about himself. Floyd has never asked any other fighter to under go such test why all the sudden Manny?

When a fighter is training and blood is being taken it can disrupt that training, and to me its a punk move by Mayweather to demand such test. Manny has every right to refuse it and if Floyd does not proceed with the fight it is he who is ducking again.

Last time I checked Manny and Floyd both fight at welterweight. This ain't no catchweight. Fight is 147 as the Pac- Floyd contract states.

    HA! A true pacq rat.
So is it "redicuious" for Olympic boxers to take blood tests?
Is it "redicuious" to enforce two boxers be on a level playing field?

Any athlete who didn't have anything to hide would have NO PROBLEM taking these test.

Next time I start a new job, I will tell my employer that I can not take the drug test because I'm superstitious about needles?!?!?!? But if you were my boss you would understand??

Wow, you pacq rats get dumb and dumber by the minute. Its ridiculous!!!

I feel bad for Cotto. Now we know he lost to a boxer with concrete gloves, and a boxer on performance enhancing drugs....

Bottom line - Pacq should be happy to take the test. But then again, when he tests positive that won't be good for his election would it??? ItÂ’s all starting to add up now.....

Umm, ya. So outrageous to ask for Olympic Style Drug Testing in a fight that will undoubtedly be one of the biggest and most significant ones in history.

I shouldn't even take time to answer you. But I'm in a good mood tonight.

Do you know what the principle of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the US Constitution is? Do you know why Sammy Sosa -- who I think was a HUGE juicer -- refused to submit to sportswriter Rick Reilly's offer to take a drug test to prove he was clean?

Here's the summary: If Fighter X doesn't have to do something, I shouldn't have to do it, either. It's not enough for Mayweather to say he'll take the blood test, it's about other fighters in the sport not having to take similar blood tests as what is being asked of Pacquiao. It simply isn't fair until and unless ALL fighters are REQUIRED to do the same thing.

If that were the rule on the books, then I would say "Damn right, Pacquiao had better take the blood test." But it's not, so singling him out for this made-up stipulation isn't fair and won't pass the smell test. It's selective persecution and it reeks of fear and cowardice by Team Mayweather.

I think that Team Mayweather has finally found a way to pull out of this fight and try to blame it on Manny Pacquiao. I'm extremely upset about this development, but if this is how it goes down, it will be worse than Floyd's obvious ducking of Margarito.

As I said in my first post: Cheaters such as Roy Jones, Jr. have been caught with post-fight testing. If Manny Pacquiao is the mega-cheat which Team Mayweather is trying to portray him as, I am very sure that he will be caught and disciplined when he submits to the post-fight testing as well.

Manny Pacquiao does not have to dance this jig because Team Mayweather starts playing the music. Team Mayweather isn't a sanctioning body that makes rules as it sees fit. And if the fight gets canceled because of this, I think the backlash against Floyd will make his crying spell after the Baldomir bout seem like nothing.

Come on. Just take a step back and be an unbiased boxing fan for a minute. If Floyd wasn't agreeing to 8 oz gloves, I would be here pissed and chirping that Floyd is ducking.

Manny needs to agree to the test or this is his fault. Any other way of looking at it is through Manny's ballsack.
