we all know mundine got knocked out by ottke but that doesnt excuse the fact he was deducted 2 points for no apparent reason other than he was beating ottke, time after time germany is home to **** decisions why risk it?

Like it or not mundine is a bit like your prince naseem, people love to hate him, he is entertaining, brash, cocky and talented.
He also makes plenty fighting lesser fighters so you put a world title in the mix and you have a v.marketable fight.

To draw a weak comparison here in the UK Haye - Valuev did something like 1/2 million buys despite haye and valuev being relatively unknown outside of boxing fans. In the build up to the fight haye was everywhere promoting it in a brash cocky manner and he created a buzz about it being A WORLD TITLE fight.

Also every time ppl rubbish mundine they are in effect sayin geale is nothing despite his ring magazine rating etc

When it all comes down to it, Mundine is rated around the world as a top 10 fighter at 160. His name should've been mentioned as a potential opponent for Pavlik if he can't get Paul Williams to sign again, but it wasn't. You know why? Because he'll never step it up and the boxing world knows this. He's known for being a protected fighter, padding his record down here against bums and rightly so. He could've been a very good fighter, but he's wasted his talent by not having the balls to even attempt to be one.

Mate go check out the figures Pacman etc get for their fights and you will realise why you thinking Mundine v Foreman would get 100thousand ppv buys is ridiculous...

I know some of the records for these fights......can anybody tell me how many buys Geale v Mundine got?

All you guys can say is no way but nobody can give me a number :huh

Remember Geale was unknown in AUST outside of boxing fans and it was not looked upon in the media as a big step up.

If Mundine fights an OS world title holder the nubers will be huge.

What did Green v RJJ get in AUST.....10,000 :rofl:rofl....Leon and Ozzie its ok to say you dont know:D

an accidental headbutt when trying to get out of the ropes should not be a 2 point deduction also knocking ottke down was seemingly ignored

Ash , I agree with your projected PPV. You just know Mundine would play the whole white boy Jew card, and the media would re-hash old footage of his sept 11 comments... Muslim v Jew... Unlike Khan v Salita, Mundine would not be hush about it.....

One question, got my ticket for the Medley fight, can I get a refund if Mundine does not make weight ? the tickets states "IBO Light Middleweight Title".. Im only interested if he makes '54

Come on man, all you're doing here is proving that you haven't even seen the fight - claiming the 2 point deduction was for nothing, then claiming it was for an accidental headbutt, then hiding behind the fact that many corrupt decisions have been awarded in Germany...

He was deducted 2 points for rabbit-punching Ottke twice while they were tangled up in the ropes, then following it up with a headbutt, all in front of the ref.

No mate weakest **** ever claiming someone hasn't seen a fight cos they disagree - i own a copy. Must be just me and the main event commentators who thought it wasn't on purpose :?. Was he cut? hurt? or did he just get tapped on the chin after holding mundines head under the ropes? If you think in another country that gets a 2 point deduction then you must exclusively watch german fights :thumbsup

You went from saying the 2 point deduction was for nothing to saying it was for an accidental headbutt and trying to use Germany's history of corrupt decisions as the only reason he was deducted the 2 points, when he blatantly rabbit-punched Ottke twice in the back of the head and then headbutted him right in front of the referee. Whether or not he was cut or injured from it means squat - he used illegal tactics and was penalised for them.
