I just read on british boxing news that this fight is taking place on 19th October, so on the undercard of Gomez - Johanneson at the donny dome.

the article says this will more or less be an eliminator for the vacant english lightweight title, but i don't think gary reid has made the lightweight limit in a few years? he looked a little too muscular against olusegun...

as long as he doesn't try to showboat and lose focus like reid's last opponent i think this should be a comfortable decision win for Fewkes (obviously he isn't knocking reid out)

Dont know about comfortable but if fewkes boxes and moves he should win it ,he ll have 2 keep his concentration at all times tho as 1 of those bombs from reid 2 head or body and its goodnight 4 fewkes, good domestic battle tho.

I reckon Fewkes will win a clear decision .
Reid was 137 when he stopped Leo O'Reilly last year(on what was presumely fairly short notice) so should be able to make the weight .

I'm getting slightly more impressed by Fewkes and I have to say he is probably the best managed prospect in the country right now.

Yep, they're doing a grand job with him.

Seen Fewkes a few times and he is improving greatly. He should be good enough to beat Reid but Reid can never be underestimated with his big punch.

I am going to go to the fight and see it in person. The Dome is a great venue and this fight should really bring up the atmosphere.

Gary Ried is a huge step up for Fewkes and exactly the type of fighter I would have liked to have seen Khan in against.

I'm really impressed with Fewkes, think he is a great prospect.

Maloney must have a lot of confidence in him as he certainly isn't holding him back with this match up - he could have found a much easier fighter than Reid to face. Would probably be a different story
    if Fewkes was with Warren.

I was begging for a Khan vs Reid fight for ages but this will do. Reid is a great guy to put a good prospect in against, very beatable but very dangerous if you are stupid enough to get caught. Fewkes should have the tools to decision him and maybe pick up a stoppage if his progression is getting better. Fewes will need to be on form and could be putin with the top guys in the division if he comes through well.

I'll be there to watch it tonight and can not wait, great card.

Have a great evening - quite a packed schedule with over 10 fights.

Hope it lives up to its 'Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide' billing!
