Calz vs Hop-- Divided more or less along UK-US lines?

    Since I was not posting or reading ESB much at the time of the fight, did opinions on who won here at ESB fall more or less along UK-US lines (ie Brits saw Calz winning, Americans favoring Hopkins)?

    I watched the fight again over the weekend and thought Calz earned an unimpressive SD. I thought Hopkins landed a few more telling blows, namely the knockdown punch, but Calz was the busier and slightly more productive overall fighter that night.

    Canadian, Calzaghe won.

    Hopkins in his prime would've beat Calzaghe convincingly.

    American here.

    Calzaghe won, and Hopkins is one of my all time favorite fighters.

    It's the only fight I think he lost in a decade.

    UK national. I scored it to Hopkins by 1 or 2 points. Close fight, but Hopkins did the cleaner, more effective work in a real stinker of a contest.

    I'm Irish and i had Calzaghe winning. Hopkins just tried to spoil and i always score an aggressive fighter.

    calzaghe fan - think joe just edged it but i can't bring myself to watch it again, it was a stinking fight.

    We can definitely forget about the "beautiful acting job of B-Hop" in this thread, because the thread is asking who won the fight, and the fight went to points, therefore Hopkins's behaviour is irrelevant, all that matters is how the rounds were scored.

    they shouldv had the judges that scored Haye vs Valuev... then Hopkins would've won. lol:rofl
