Glass Jaw Of 2009 Award Goes To...........

folks, I made a thread a few weeks ago requesting nominations for the Glass Jawed joke of 2009. And it was a Unanimous Decision.

Roy Jones Jr. is your Glass Jawed fighter of 2009. He was smashed in about 2 minutes by Danny Green.

Actually, that third picture...that shot from Antonio Tarver would have taken just about anybody down.

 

Surely Jermain Taylor should have got this? Roy's loss definitely didn't reflect well on his beard, but Taylor's losses have been more significant, and a whole new light has been shone on his career now his chin's gone down the pipe.

Jermaine Taylor just lasted almost 12 rounds against a huge puncher......how does he have a glass jaw?

 

Taylor has not been Koed by feather fisted punchers like Roy has nor has he been brutally KOed in one or two rounds like Glass Jaw Roy either. I don't think Taylor has a good Chin but it is light years better than Roy's.

 

I'm not saying he does, but presumably Rico thinks so.

 

Well, "Fighter of the Year" doesn't necessarily go to the P4P best fighter; nor should "Glass Jaw of the Year" necessarily go to the worst chin. It's about achievements, surely? JT has been brutally stopped twice this year in career-definingly bad fashion. I can't think of a purported "glass jaw" that has caved in with more significance than that in '09.
