After all the friendship and sports comradeship that existed between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao for their 2009 mega fight this past November 14th in Las Vegas, Cotto was dismayed with Manny Pacquiao’s position towards the proposal for Olympic type drug testing requested by Floyd Mayweather. “I am in complete awe with Manny’s reaction to this matter. He has always been a great athlete and a gentleman. Why in the world would he require restrictions or conditions for the tests? It is a golden opportunity for him to dissipate all worldwide rumors surrounding his figure and the use of enhancement drugs. His refusal to commit to the tests without conditions raises questions. Olympic type drug testing is the most efficient tool for the sport to secure fair play. My recommendation to all boxing authorities in the world is to implement it across the board. I would agree to it without hesitation or reservations. It is the only way to ensure that the outcome of a bout is the strict result of conditioning and ability. To magnify your talent with drugs is repulsive,” Miguel Cotto stated.

Cotto is spot on. It must of taken Miguel 20 minutes to say all them big words but he's bang on the mark imo.

Pretty succinct. Its what a lot of posters on here have been saying. However, obviously it has more weight behind it when a top line fighter like Cotto comes out and says it. Maybe people will start to realise its not an anit-Pac pro-Floyd agenda. Lets have it across the board.

He is always a fighter you'll pay to watch again even if he loses. Losing don't mean ****. He comes to fight and fights the best. That is all any true fan wants. When all is said and done Cotto will know his level. It's not some bull**** built record.

Is Cotto claiming that both men who beat him cheated?

I think he has a point. I still dont believe pac is on any PED's of any kind HOWEVER if nothing else he has shot him self in the foot by the way he and his team has handled the situation. He would have gained alot more respect and made mayweather look like a fool if hed have just said yeh sod it ill take the tests just to get the fight on.

The big problem is even if Pac is found out to be a drugs cheat he will only get small fine and a 6 month ban. His fans will still love him and after awhile he will still get huge fights. Boxing stinks at times.

That is definitely the vocabulary of Miguel Cotto. I can almost hear him saying the words.

He uses 'dissipate' and 'efficient tool' a lot in his post fight interviews.
