You'd have to think that rather than be drawn into a firefight Calzaghe could adapt and keep away, mixing up his approach to try and stifle Benn.

But that Benn is one of the most ferocious fighters I have ever seen on film. If G-Man couldn't keep him down, then Calzaghe isn't hurting him (I'd say 'prime' Calzaghe was probably that of the Kessler fight, I'm not saying the experienced Joe C with young Joe C's hands, that's bollocks) and I say Calzaghe is not as defensively slick as some suggest; awkward movements yes, taking fighters off balance, but Benn was more streamlined at 168, and would find a way to get his punches off.

Calzaghe can be hurt. I say Benn can put the pressure on late in a fascinating battle of wits and wills.

Both men are ****ed at the end. Benn takes it 116-112.

I think that if Benn had of landed those rights Reid or Woodhall (whose style is totally umike Benns) it would have been over.

I personally feel Calzaghe at his best has enough ring nuance and durability to pull through tough patches. I don't feel he was iron chinned, but Calzaghe had very good powers of recovery IMO.

Though I wouldn't pick him to last more than a couple of rounds with Ezzard Charles, Bob Foster, Mike Spinks. And I don't think he'd beat Prime Roy Jones, so in short I don't think he's as effective against ATG's at his own weight (I'd have him no,2 H2H) or at a weight he briefly ventured at, admittedly ageing but undoubtedly savvy and adaptable.

He broke his hand early against Ashira and fought with one hand for about 9 rounds.

So he gets to fight Benn with a magic hand? Does Benn get a magic chin too? :D

I'm not so sure a guy that is as open to right hand haymakers as Calzaghe can last too long with Benn, to be honest :yep

I'm just saying why he wasn't impressive against Ashira.

He had brittle hands but he didn't break them every fight so using Ashira as a gauge is nonsense.

Anyway, last week on the subject of Eubank - Joe you said, and I quote,

''Exactly, Joe was briefly troubled, no more.''

Today you are saying Joe barely finished on his feet.

    What changed?
