Mundine's thinking the last few months -

***The Contender Australia***- Choc Getting paid alot of money to do the show by foxtel, he see's it as a relitively easy fight , and he is handsomely remunerated given the ppv interest generated from the contender program , plus the attraction of new fans to the sport potentially.

***Not Rematching Geale*** - Fight is too risky , a loss would jeopardise the interest in Contender Australia fight , and financially he is making similiar money fighting Kariz/Garth...so the risk is greater than reward in fighting geale.

***Fight with Medley***- Mundine had no intention of campaigning at junior middleweight past this fight , it was merely a keep busy fight whilst he awaits the winner of the contender. But the mind of Khoder Nasser has conjured up the IBO Junior Middleweight Title , potentially making him a 4 time world champ and "The Pioneer" , being 3 world titles "declining" in weight. Another "world title" enhances the Mundine Brand ( in the eyes of the general public , not with us boxing folk) & attract more interest in the Contender fight.

Now that the IBO have withdrawn support , Mundine obviously doesnt have to make weight. He was never going to campaign at junior middle anyway so nothing lost , nothing gained.

He gets to now fight medley, in a fight where Mundine has a massive weight advantage , given medley is not even a natural junior middleweight , where I believe he will win easily and look impressive , thus building interest in a Mundine v Contender Winner fight....

He then goes on to fight Contender Winner ...and still has lucrative rematches with Geale , Green still up for grabs....

What is so clever about vacating the IBO MW title to move down to 154 to fight for the IBO JMW title only to not be able to make the weight and end up fighting for the 3rd rate WBA MW title instead? :huh

Does anyone know what weight he will fight the contender winner at? I can't imagne kariz would be able to get down to 160, assuming he beats garth.

You say nothing lost and nothing gain well not true mate because I will not book the card now I will watch it on FOX 8 because Mundine decided to pull some bull**** again.

I would have been more then happy to pay and watch the full card but pulling this garbage again has just done it. Fighting at JR Middleweight it was gonna make it more of a even fight but now its just a joke....LOVE t to see Rob smack him now and then Choc will have no excuse.

I think Mundine is paying for his allegience to Khoder.

Like any manager he know's that the bills will be paid so long as his best fighter keeps winning. The continued loss of weight will only make Mundine age faster and by the time he secures a decent opponent he'll be past his prime.

The other point is that these opponents won't help his bargin power with the major promoters. How do you sell a title fight when the challenger has been fighting unknowns?

While the champions keep tuned fighting top contenders Choc has slowly dropped out of the big leagues and is doing nothing more than slipping into obscurity, selling his God given gifts for the evil green.

agree with all said ... noting he had to fight Medley as he is in the same camp as geale, and he owed them for digging the rematch .. thats the only reason for that fight
