I think the majority of knowledgeable posters see a Mayweather victory vs Pacquiao.... lets hope we get to see the fight because I`ll hold both men responsible for handing boxing this global embarassment.

When was this? The only time I remember hearing anything like that was around 2004, and it was Arum who said he felt Cotto was "too green" for a fight with Floyd.

Also, Oscar had fought 6 rounds in three years, arguably losing three of his previous four fights prior to meeting Floyd. Even if Oscar was perceived as the #1 in the weight class at that time (which I don't think he was), that only shows you how weak that division was at the time. Especially when you consider who he beat to become champ.

Until they are in the ring,it`s negotiating that they are doing.

Nothing I have read exibits any reluctance of Mayweather,Manny wanted the weight penalty, 8 oz gloves ,he wanted march 13.Floyd simply asked that BOTH of them be randomly blood tested, something that is done in every other world class sporting event.

Maybe Manny thinks he can't defeat Mayweather skillwise, but he knows he can hurt Floyd. By then he knows Mayweather's defeat follows.

Nobody on this forums was hyping Margarito but Capfunds, AKA The Reaper. He was the only one that said Margarito was a tough fight for Floyd. I was around these forums during that time, Margarito had just lost to Daniel Santos then Paul Williams. He didnt get big until he beat Cintron for the 2nd time and signed to fight Cotto. Even then 80% of this forum picked Cotto.

Whatever 2004/05 whatever dude. Floyd still tried to fight Cotto, Cotto declined.

And yeah Oscar was very inactive but he had looked very good against Hopkins and then destroyed Mayorga. From the Mayorga fight, he looked great.

mayweather has fought garbage the last 5 years....
all the tough real fights he avoided.
    1)margarito-
    2)mosley
    3)cotto
    4)paul williams
5)no hes scared of a the former flyweight champ
floyd has no balls in the boxing world
he has held mostly paper titles...when there are 4 belts at each division, he always fights the weakest one...big props for that...

Exactly. and who keeps on talking on and on and on about his 0.
Which he knows is in jeopardy, potentially, if he fights Manny, who destroyed hatton + oscar way worse than did floyd, and who kicked cotto's arse pretty hard - cotto, who some say that floyd was ducking.

to me it's pretty clear who is more nervous about this fight, and who has more to lose.

I'm not calling you a liar. I'm simply asking where you heard this, because I've never once heard Miguel or anyone from his camp say they weren't ready for a fight with Floyd or turned one down. Matter of fact, in the article I had in mind...it wasn't even Arum who said Cotto was too green, it was Floyd himself.

You said Floyd offered Cotto a fight around the time he moved up to welterweight, which almost in 2006. That's a pretty significant difference in time.

Tito looked great after a two year layoff against Mayorga also. Still I don't think most would have rated him highly based off that one performance.
