Looks like HBO wants to put Bute's next fight versus the Super Six on April 17th. Bute's people have been saying that they will take a close look at the Stieglitz-Miranda fight taking place on January 9th. My guess? HBO will market the Bute-Miranda fight as a unification bout in an effort to discredit the Super Six. Bute is ranked no.1 by Ring Magazine and the winner of that fight would be the only unified champion in the division. Of course, for all this to happen. Miranda has to win the title against Stieglitz in Germany in 2 weeks. Meanwhile, Bute's team is still trying to make a fight with Pavlik.
Wait, you wrote this today? Stieglitz-Miranda was SUPPOS to be on saturday but Miranda pulled out a few days ago with the flu or something. Some Argie journeyman Acsta will be fighting Stieglitz. But it does look like Bute will defend against Mirnada in april.
Bute vs Miranda unification doesn't discredit the super 6 much. Its good for boxing. If anything it'll get more fans of Bute to tune in to the super 6, and more fans of the super 6 to tune in to the Bute fight. I'll watch both for sure.
Everyone is so easily writing off Miranda in a fight against Bute. I hope Bute feels the same way. Nobody has seen what Miranda has to offer with Goossen. Its good to be the underdog sometimes.
Miranda beats Bika. Andrade's style always scared me. But after watching the last fight with Bute, I think Miranda can win. Bute, I agree, is tough. If Miranda can stay in the fight long enough he will get to Bute. If Andrade can put him on ***** street, Miranda can lay him out. Just gonna be hard for Miranda to get there. He will have to be at his best, back to the old Miranda (Abraham I / Eastman). The Miranda against Andre Ward would never beat Bute.
Feb. 2007: Froch turns down a fight against Bute for a shot at the IBF title. June 2009: Bute turns down a fight with Froch. He wants to close the Andrade chapter first. July 2009: Showtime announces the Super Six. Bute was never invited.
