He would get his ass handed to him.

Toney Im sure would have decent striking skills, but he has zero experience grappling, he is overweight, and his legs are slow. He cant wrestle, no ground and pound, he doesnt know submissions, cant do takedowns.

I think he would end up getting embarassed

Plus what weight class would he fight in? He would be pathetically small for a HW

At LHW he would get taken apart, everyone would be faster and stronger and more athletic than him

You may have a valid point. Ray Mercer KO'd Tim Silvia. You never know with the quality of the chin of MMA fighters.

Not surprised. Anyone with no hope in boxing immediately goes there and dominates after two fights. Isn't their main champion a WWE and NFL reject?

I think your showing a bit much respect to these MMA guys. All JT has to do is work on wrestling and all of that ground work stuff for half a year and he, at 41, is probably the best fighter in the MMA

Massive respect for Toney, thought I normally dislike the guy. He has the balls to defend boxing and actually put his money where his mouth is. I hope he wins to spite Dana.

    I'd watch that.

Would much rather see him fight Haye or Hopkins though.

:lol:Toney wouldn't last a round with any fighter that is qualified to fight in the UFC. Even bums like Kimbo and Houston Alexander would immediately take him down.

what you guys are underestimating is the speed of a punch......Toney isn't as fast as he's ever been but I can pretty much garauntee he's got the fastest and heaviest hands of anybody fighting in his division. Now what I was going to say is that a punch is faster than a kick, a punch is faster than a knee, or an elbow, or an armbar, or whatever. I can garauntee you the mma guys will tell you the same. Toney is as skilled a counterpuncher as boxing has seen, he can counter with both hands to the body and to the head and he has power. In MMA he just has more countering opportunities. A guy lunges in for the takedown, COUNTER. A guy goes for a leg kick, COUNTER. A guy tries one of those stupid turning elbows, COUNTER.

I like him against any of these MMA guys, in fact I'd really love to see him fight Brock Lesnar....that would be a sad day for a lot of MMA fans lol.
