I do agree, however, that this fight not happening is a great thing for MMA. Boxing had an opportunity to blow the UFC away, at least for one event. All of the hype and great press going into Mayweather/Pacquiao would have done tremendous things for boxing and would have overshadowed every UFC card for the months leading up to the big fight.

Of course boxing shot itself in the foot once again. It did it before with Bowe/Lewis never happening. Jones/Hopkins II never happening. But this fight not happening is MUCH MUCH worse.

I don't think there has every been a fight in boxing history, THIS anticipated, that didn't happen because both sides couldn't agree on terms.

Absolutely shameful. I still can't believe these morons let this thing get away.

If your referring to Randy Couture he's 46 and he's probably as big in MMA as Benard Hopkins (who is 45 very soon) is in boxing , and ur point is .

Hopkins dominated his division for 12 years and lost two questionable decisions. Then moved up 2 weight classes and dominated the champ. Hopkins defended his title over 20 times. He is still fighting at a top level. Cotures achievements pale in comparison.
