Good read, thanks. This really proves that most boxing fans just want their fighter to give it all they've got win or lose. He got so much criticism because in his last few fights, even though they were against tough and sometimes awkward opposition, because he didn't seem to really be hungry for the win and seemed to just half-ass it. In the Pavlik fight, even though he lost, he "went down swinging," as he said, and he gave it everything he had and that's what people want to see and that's why he's getting so much positivity from his home state. :good

So it looks like the rematch is on after all. This will be do or die for Taylor if loses back to back loses to Pavlik it will really hurt his career.I really think he should fight a tune or two. It also looks like Steward is on his way out ,maybe the bring back Burns.:hat

 

That saying " If it does'nt kill you it'll make you stronger" seems to apply here. Jermain seems like a great kid and I had doubts about him coming back after the KO to Pavlik, but after reading his reaction I think he's going to be fine and continue to have a great career. Will he win the rematch? I doubt it. Also, great to read that the people of Arkansas are

 

I really think that smart thing for Taylor career would be for him fight Pavlik down road a bit. Lets see Taylor take on Miranda in big money fight at 168 there is bad blood there it would sell big then Dennis Inkns to come number contender at 168 then lets see Taylor fight Kelly Again.:good

 

I admire Taylor for wanting to step right back into the ring against Pavik, but I think his chances would improve if he'd take another fight first.

I also hope he'll split with Steward. It just didn't work out. He needs to find someone who will convince him that keeping his left hand up actually is a good, fairly easy thing to do.

Pat Burns always seemed like a fantastic trainer to me. I think bringing him back might be beneficial for JT if there isn't any bad blood between them over their previous split.

Let's face it. Emanuel Steward is a legendary trainer. But for whatever reason, him working with Taylor has just not produced the results that everyone expected. I know he's fought very tough opponents in his last half dozen fights, which explain the close wins, draw, and the loss to Pavlik. But I really think that JT looked like a better fighter when he was with Burns, and listened to the advice given in the corner much more than he does now.

Taylor has the tools to beat Pavlik in a rematch. The thing I worry about with Taylor is the mental side. I thought he said the last fight would be his last at Middleweight?
