Thats been a problem with boxing in America since the year dot though. They have national boxing commission so rules are made on a state by state basis wheras the UK has (for all its faults) the BBBofC to standardise rules across the county.

Its far from ideal but its not Mayweather fault for playing to the rules of whatever state he's fighting in.

I don't know the situation at the moment but historically the reason that the USA doesn't have a national commission is that no one fancies trying to govern the sess pit of a sport on a national level. I think John McCain (who ran against Obama last elections) tried to get one off the ground years ago and got nowhere with it.

That about sums up what I think about Floyd 'the bull**** artist' Mayweather. Sorry if it has no real relevance to this thread.

isn't this the same stuff footballers use before a match if they have a bad ankle or something.

didn't gerrard use it for most of last year so he could still play for liverpool?

    Yep.

Footballers, rugby players, pretty much any sport you can think of.

Flintoff was only bowling towards the end of his test career because of this kind of stuff.

It's pretty much a non issue, it doesn't enhance his strength or give him any physical advantage.

Im thinking your being sarcastic but im not taking the chance.

It only stops the pain in your hands, I get sore hands myself so I am sympathetic on this issue.

Its a quote from George Foreman i think TFFP is referring to, all he thinks about is the punchers side of it but even for foremans standard this is ******ed

Almost every athlete in the world will take something that is legal if they feel it will benefit their performance/recovery..... regardless of the level at which they compete.

I used to take anti-inflammatory pills when I played rugby, for instance.

I'm sure it is not a PED. It is designed to numb your hands, not make you punch harder. You can punch harder because you feel less pain but it's for people with bad elbows, bad hands etc. Floyds hands are terrible and when he hurts them the pain is numbed. However, Floyd can still punch as hard as he always does. I think such injections and pills should be illegal though. Loads of fighters back in the day used to take cortizone injections.
