outside the ring is pac. we live in a society where we like to think the worse about someone. more and more people are saying, "if he has nothing to hide then why not take the test." these are people that don't follow much boxing and think that boxers never have to be tested by the state commision.

Floyd really wanted the fight with Pac and wasnt working other fights like Pac was. Pac has a few more options NOW because Arum promoted fighters are free NOW. But A fight with Mosley and Pac wont be as easy as a fight with Mosley and Mayweather. Arum isnt going to late Pac anywere near Williams and Foreman isnt the best option at 154, unless someone is simply looking to pick up a belt.

But I think that its true that Pac is in a better position RIGHT now, but that is based on who is free and who they are promoted by.:good

They don't have to be blood tested. Ever. When Pac had to be... He ran.

    Something is VERY fishy.

Floyd. If he doesn't beat Pac he's not P4P #1 unless someone else beats him and Floyd beats the conqueror of Pac and that's not likely. No matter who he fights it still won't make 40 million and that's the same with Pac but Pac still is P4P 1 unless someone beats him. We all know this and so does May but also Floyd isn't known for fighting the best at WW while Pac doesn't give a damn as long olympic style testing isn't involved and Floyd is the only fighter asking for him to take one. They both screwed up but all in all Manny is still P4P #1 regardless going into a May fight or any other fight while Floyd is right below.

I never said floyd was wrong for wanting to fight baldo. I'm simply saying you guys are wrong for thinking shane ducked him. shane wanted him, he just wanted the lion share. at that point shane had done far more ppv buys than floyd. but it doesn't even matter what happened in 2006. this is 2009. shane is the welterweight champ, and if pac is off the table there is NO excuse for floyd to not fight him. end of story.

The thing is Floyd was willing to fight Shane in the past, it was Shane that didnt want the fight throwing out names for Floyd to fight that wasnt himself. We dont know whats going to happen in the future, I think that its very likely that Shane and Floyd will fight this year, much more then a fight for either with Pac. I think that they were on thier way to fighting after the JMM fight when they had that set-up in ring argument..That was SOOO fake and SOOO planed. It was clear to anyone watching that Floyd waved Shane over. Then the Pac thing came up, and it appeared that they just might do it after all. I wouldnt be shocked it come September we dont get Shane vs Floyd, and to the guy that said you cant over take Pac as p4p well after this fight we will see how true that it:good

didn't pac agree to 3 blood test? one around the time of the press conference, during training, then right after the fight in the dressing room, plus as much urine as marquez could drink. this is more than any commision wanted. should the commision do stricter testing? absolutely, but not because some jerk-off said so.

    totally agree with this.

even if I'm a huge Pac fan I'm really disappointed with both sides and boxing took the biggest hit with this whole debacle.

In the short term, I'd say Floyd is in a worse position now because before the talks for the fight with Pacquiao a lot of people were already questioning Floyd's willingness to take on a challenge. The Pacquiao fight was the best fight for him since it would be a huge money maker against a fighter everyone knows is very very dangerous but still very much winnable for him.

Floyd has shown no recent interest in fighting Mosley so legacy wise he can only prove the naysayers wrong by taking even higher risks fights against junior middleweight fighters or maybe Berto should he beat Mosley. But even then, the talks of fighting Paulie or Mathew Hatton are fights even Floyd fans won't want to defend and don't really look like they'll make much money.

But having said that, if it's true that he still has 4 fights left, then he'll have a lot of chances to turn up the level of the competition drastically so in the long run, he can still fight his way out of the rut he's gotten himself into.

For Pacquiao, personally taking on Clottey is a good choice (obviously not the best choice) but Clottey is still a top WW contender so it's still not an easy fight, and that will help repair some of the damage done by the fallout of the Pac-Mayweather negotiations.

His legacy is already set, but at this point, it's hard to say if the legacy he built will withstand the steroid allegations. On one hand, the accusations were baseless and built on the opinions of 2 obviously biased people. On the other hand, his refusal to the random blood testing has raised more than a few eyebrows. People's memories are finicky at best so only time will tell which people will choose to remember, the fact that Pac has passed all his drug tests and has made a history making career in boxing or his refusal to take the random blood tests which some attribute to pride and principle, while others attribute to the actions of a guilty man. There are a lot of people on both sides of the issue on this and it really is hard to say which side will feature more prominently in the history books.

Mayweather easily. Pac has been making history lately and has a very good opponent lined up, Mayweather is planning to fight Mathew Hatton for God's sake.

Last month it was Clottey is a gatekeeper AT BEST

now that hes a pac opponent its

He has a VERY GOOD opponent lined up
    :patsch

    ----------------------------------------------

anyways, to the thread, as of right now i would say Pac is 'looking better', even if the Clottey fight comes off, theres only about three guys right now that would rank as better opponents then clottey that Mayweather could face 147 and below, and i dont see him fighting them so i dont see how mayweather will come out of this in a better position so to speak then Pac.

Mayweather probably but neither camp have done themselves any favours. It all depends on where Mayweather goes from here seen as Pac is scheduled to fight Clottey. If they go the Matthew Hatton route then I am going to laugh until I turn red in the face and pass out.

It's M. Hatton or Malignaggi, but looks like it will be Hatton.

Clottey is way above Hatton anyday.
